This activity will be held on June 23 rd and 24 th 2017 Our aim is to offer you and your shooters a quality shoot with an exceptional awards program. This shoot could serve as a good warm-up just prior to State and assist in preparing your shooters for really stiff competition in the near future. Opening ceremonies and shooter’s safety briefing will be conducted at 9:00 a.m. at Cactus Flats Gun Club on Friday and Amarillo Gun Club on Saturday. 2017 Registration fee for Trap/Skeet/Sporting Clays is $15.00 per shooter, per event, (1 event-$15.00, 2 events-$30.00 or 3 events-$45.00) due at the time of your 4-H Connect Registration. The registration fee on 4-H Connect covers insurance, awards, and contest expenses. An additional round fee for Trap and Skeet is due the day of the contest, and will be approximately $6.00-$8.00. These fees may change without notice. These fees are set by the Amarillo Gun Club. Sporting Clays will cost $45.00 and the fee is set by Cactus Flats Gun Club. All events will be shot according to 4-H age groupings as of 8/31/16 - Juniors (8 yrs old and in the 3 rd grade as of 8/31/16, grades 4 & 5) Intermediates (grades 6, 7, 8) , Seniors ( grades 9, 10, 11 & 12). Sporting Clays will only be shot Friday morning, 9:00 am, Cactus Flats Gun Club 100 Targets Skeet will only be shot Friday afternoon, 1:00 pm Amarillo Gun Club Trap will only be shot Saturday morning, 9:00 am, Amarillo Gun Club Trap & Skeet number of targets: Jr. 50 targets - Int. 75 targets - Sr. 100 targets. All awards will take place on Saturday after Trap competition at Amarillo Gun Club. High Overall Award will be given for each age division. Must shoot all 3 events. Registration must be completed on 4-H Connect (http://texas4-h.tamu.edu/ ) no later than June 16 2017. Management reserves the right to move shooters to open fields as needed. Leaders from each county will be asked to help! Shooters will be squaded in the order in which registration is received. No protest will be acknowledged without a $100 protest fee and no discussions about a protest will be held on the range in front of the youth members. Period. No Discussion. Shooters need to bring their own guns and ammunition, ear, and eye protection. There will be no ammunition for sale at the sites. Eye and ear protection required. The Amarillo Gun Club is located 2 miles south of I-40, please use the Ross/Osage exit - 1-40, exit #71. Sporting Clays competition will be held at Cactus Flats Gun Club, 9999 Brickplant Rd., Amarillo, TX. Exit I-40 onto Western Street, go north 6.1 miles, and turn left on W. Willow Creek Dr. After 1 mile, W. Willow Creek Drive becomes Brickplant Rd. and follow 2.9 miles. Cactus Gun Club is on left. We wish each of your groups a safe shooting sports summer!
