Fuel-Guard Decontaminator – how it works
Fuel enters the unit’s special element which induces a swirlingaction to separate off water and solid contaminants. The specialcoated element (green) only allows clean fuel to pass through, repelling all water and contaminants which sink to the base of theunit into a containment area, where they can be drained anddisposed of safely.
The element is very easily cleaned should it become blocked, just remove and gently wash with clean fuel and reinstall. Thisoperation requires no tools.
Fuel Guard can also supply a sensor, to indicate when thecontaminant area is full. this can be linked to an audible warninglight or automatic engine shutdown.
Once fitted, the Fuel-Guard Decontaminator will ensure yourengine is continuously supplied with clean, contamination freefuel, prolonging its life span and maximising operationalcapability.

Why protect fuel?If you use any type of diesel, you will need to prevent fuelcontamination, which will harm your expensive machinery and canlead to breakdown problems which waste valuable time. Plantfitted with modern, high-pressure fuel injection systems areparticularly vulnerable. Sand and grit are two main contaminants, but water can also be highly damaging, leading to performanceand reliability issues. The Fuel-Guard Decontaminator is designedto remove and protect your equipment from these hazards.
Biodiesel – increased usage, increased risk
Fuel legislation is designed to lower harmfulemissions. This, coupled with theexpanding global demand for fuel, hasincreased the use of available bio-diesel. Bio-diesel poses a greater risk of water
contamination thanpetro-diesel, because
water is introduced to bio-dieselduring production. Bio-diesel also
absorbs water from the atmosphere. As temperatures rise, water isabsorbed into the fuel, as they fall, water condenses out, forming harmful‘free water’ which sinks to the tankbottom. This ‘free water’ can wreakhavoc on your fuel system and
engine.
Benefits
•The Fuel-Guard Decontaminator will remove 95% of solid contaminants and99.9% visible water including emulsified water found in all types of fuel.
•The Fuel-Guard Decontaminator performs this function with an amazing re-useable lifetime filter element. Therefore, no replacement of filter element or cartridge is required.
•By removing contamination immediately, the Fuel-Guard Decontaminator willvirtually eliminate all filter clogging, which will prolong the engine maintenance intervals.
