What is non-verbal communication?

Non-verbal communication is usually understood

as the process of communication through sending

and receiving wordless messages.

Non-verbal communication is the unspoken communication that goes on in every face-

to-face encounter with another human being.

Through non-verbal communication, we make all kinds of inferences even though we don’t always realize it.

It is important to be aware of non-verbal messages, so we can avoid sending and receiving unintentional messages.

Objective of the activities:

•To make the students sensitize to the importance of non-verbal communication.

•The activities are designed to help the students understand how much information we transmit with nonverbal communication.

Activities:

You will be shown a video clip of a job interview. You have to determine who is the employer and who is the candidate.

You will be shown some pictures. Try to infer the hidden meaning in the pictures.
