Editor’s Note
VALENTINE’S DANCE
The Valentine’s Dance was a resound-ing success. The Community Band of Brevard provided the music and the room was packed. Everyone enjoyed themselves and compliments on the music, decorations and hospitality shown was shared with the dance committee.

Our winter guests, from up north, are now happily enjoying our relatively cool but wonderful weather when compared to the weather they have been having in the northern part of the country. From what I have been told, they have had more snow and bad storms this year than most ever remember. We’ve had some cold nights and days, but nothing compared to what our northern friends have had to endure.
Since last month we have a couple of changes, the first being the loss of our member who is no longer available to perform this most important task and donated many hours of quality time in pre-paring our tax forms for the center, so we are now looking for someone with experience in the prepa-ration of the Tax Form 990 “Tax report for Tax Exempt Organizations.” If you know of someone with this type of experience, please contact our operations managers.
We are still working on obtaining the additional space in the form of modular units so that we may continue with our plans to expand our activities at the center. As of now, we are at a virtual at a standstill in our efforts to add new activities to the list of programs being offered at NBSC. As soon as we get word of any progress, we will let you know.
There are several new trips available to our members. One in particular is a cruise at the end of the month that will offer great buys and upgrades in the cabin section. (Details listed in the Travel Sec-tion of this newsletter.) If you miss this trip, Cat Simkins has many other travel opportunities listed. If you are interested in having a fun time, join the “Mexican Train” group. They have such a great time! If you’re interested in something a little quieter, I suggest you contact John McLaughlin and join in with the Chess Group. Also various types of Bridge sessions are offered on various days and times. Beginning March 10th, Bridge Refresher Lessons is being offered for those who want to im-prove their Bridge playing. (This class is not for beginners). If you are interested in learning how to play bridge (beginners), let us know. If there is enough interest, we will see what we can do to find an instructor.
The new Officers and Board of Directors are working hard to make the NBSC a pleasant place for its members to spend their time.. We welcome your input and ideas to help us improve the programs we offer, so please feel free to make your suggestions to any of the Officers or Board Members.
Take Care and Be Safe, Your President Joseph Mangino
