From the Moderator: With our annual meeting behind us and the new fiscal year before us where do we stand? I felt there was great unity at our meeting and healing is in progress. There are still some tense feelings, yet all are waiting for the marching orders of moving

forward and finding a new leader for our association. The New Directions Committee has come up with a plan.

The proposal is as follows;

There will be 3 listening posts set up by the New Direction’s Committee to consider a one year agreement to be DOM between Alan Brock and NGRBA. At the end of one-year, Alan Brock, Linn-Livingston Association or the NGRBA could say this is not working and withdraw from the agreement.

The vote would take place at the January Executive Board meeting, The one year time would begin at that time. If the vote fails, we would be back to looking for a new DOM.

This may or may not be the direction we will move. I know from our previous listening post some are for this possibility and I also know there are those who are in reservation. I would encourage that no matter what side of the fence you are on please attend these listening posts and ask the questions you have. This is not a cookie cutter decision by the New Directions Committee, but rather a possi-bility of answering our need of a DOM. There may be other answers, if so after coming to a listening post express your concerns to your pastor and board representative as to what you would like them to do when it comes time to vote in January as to whether to pursue this direction or to call a search committee to begin the process of looking for a new DOM. Please whatever feelings you have come to a listening post before you decide and hear and ask the questions that need to be asked to decide the future that lies ahead of us.

The following dates and times for the three listening posts have been confirmed with the pas-tors of the churches involved: Tuesday, October 30th, 7:00 PM, Jamesport Baptist Church Thursday, November 8th, 7:00 PM, FBC Princeton Tuesday, November 13th, 7:00 PM, FBC Trenton

Associational WMU Meeting 10-18-2018 A lovely fall day was the setting for WMU’s October meeting. Six churches were represented in our group and we opened with prayer requests. Discussion then followed on our outreach for Missouri Days. Some of the ladies will bring or send cookies and Shelly will get the cocoa in-gredients. Emma said she could come early to help setup. Shelly read the new WMU Theme “Unshakable Pursuit” and the four objectives; 1. Nurture a missions environment in churches and the association, 2. Provide and participate in associa-

tional missions activities and projects, 3. Equip churches to provide missions awareness and involvement, 4. Develop and strengthen WMU in all congregations. We will be working on these in the next year. Doris Provorse one of the new missions involvement team gave us a project for the next 2 months. Our members and their churches will be collecting laundry soap, dryer sheets and paper towels to give to the women's shelter. Virginia gave our devotional and led prayer for birthday missionaries. Carolyn Houts asked for prayer for Jeff Singerman, missionary from Congo who was in a car accident in March and is here now in the states getting corrective surgery. Josh Gottman spoke to our group about our main mission in the church is to make disciples and everything we do should be directed to that goal. He also emphasized that if the local church fails to make disciples it is impossible to go into the world. Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer will be celebrated Monday, November 5 at 10:30 am at Trenton FBC. All are welcome and encouraged to come. Virginia Crumpacker will lead the program. A carry in luncheon will follow. A Sister in Christ

Jamesport– Kingdom Kids continues on Wednesday evenings. One Wednesday evening per month the kids do a community service project.

Our church held the afternoon service at the Davies County Nursing Home on Octo-ber 7th.

We served the BSU Luncheon on October 10th.

On October 19th the church had a Food Distribution Program.

Weather permitting, the October 28th evening service will be held at 5:30 pm at Bear’s Rosemary Tree Farm with a time of fellowship, including a hayride and hot dogs.

The Sunnyview Nursing Home Service will be led by our church on October 21st.

We will have our annual Trunk’NTreat on October 31st at 5:30 pm. There will not be a Wednesday evening service.

Evangelist Richard Green will be in Revival at the church November 4th—7th.

A Thanksgiving meal followed by a Shoal Creek Revival Concert will be held at the church Saturday, November 17th.

Our church delivers Meals-On-Wheels for our community during the month of November.

Medicine Valley Community Ministry- We have recently had a three day revival effort led by Allen Reger who grew up in Newtown. Allen brought in depth messages in each service planting seed that will produce results. We appreciate those from the association and from the community who came and supported the meetings. Only the future will show how much was accomplished for the Lord. While member contributions have been up in recent months we still have to rely on financial help from outside sources. Receipts from our booth at Dusty Attic in Jamesport is also a help from time to time. Donations of old items, antiques, and collectables are still needed. Midweek Bible Study at Humphreys continues to be an important facet of our ministries, with some eight to ten people regularly involved. We are beginning to plan for Thanksgiving and Christmas observances. A lighter schedule this year as we no longer do the monthly food ministry. We continue to minister to individuals who are striving to overcome addictions to opioids, illicit drugs and alcohol. Never an easy task, only with the Lord’s help does it truly succeed. Please continue to pray for this mission to struggling people, this God ordained “Mission in Your Own Backyard”.

Trenton FBC– We have started “First prays on the First.” The Prayer Room has been updated and members are encouraged to sign up and come in and pray for 30 minutes. A prayer sheet is provided. A group along with Calvary Baptist Church went on a Mission Trip to Love Packages, in Butler, Illinois on October 25-26. Love Packages collects used literature and Bi-bles and sends them overseas.

We will be having our annual Parade of Flags on Sunday, November 11th. There are 50 flags in this presentation. The flags will be up for 3 weeks. The kids Pioneer Club, Area 56 and Youth continue to meet on Wednesday evenings. A meal is provided before. The ladies meet Thursday night for Bible Study. They are beginning “Whisper” by Mark Batterson.

Union Coon Creek -

Psalm 37:4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

We held a high attendance Sunday September 29 and had a 125 in attendance.

We are having a float in the October 20th Missouri Days Parade. Our theme is “174 YEARS OF HERITAGE; COON CREEK BAPTIST CHURCH”. The riders are wearing semblances of the last 174 years. We will also have a youth booth at the fairgrounds on the east side of the road.

We are having a booth at the Chamber of Commerce Trick-or-Treat night at the Historical Rock Barn. We like to call it “Tract Or Treat” and give everyone candy and a Gospel Tract.

On October 27 we are having our annual hayride and hotdog evening. Wagons leaving the church at 4pm with hotdogs after.

On November 4 we will have our annual Church Thanksgiving meal. We will also take a group pic-ture of all our church atten-dees that day. Looking to get all members and friends who attend there for this picture.

On Thanksgiving Day we will be making deliveries and dine in meal.

God Bless All our sister Churches
