Northalta News
July 2018
Northalta had its annual CFS (Child
and Family Service) file review visit
in June.
Two Providers were visited and we
are proud to say Davorka B. and
Kawkab E. had successful visits!
Congratulations to both Providers
on demonstrating the importance
and value of approved and
accredited day homes!
Severe Weather - Summer is here and with that may come severe weather. Northalta wants to ensure the safety of providers and children. During severe weather, follow the advice of Environment Canada. It is important to be calm and reassuring with the children. Please contact Northalta if you have questions.
Northalta welcomes Michelle, our new consultant, to the Northalta team. Michelle brings a variety of child care
experiences and skills that will benefit providers. She is looking forward to meeting Providers and the children in
the day homes.
Christina will be the new Child Placement Liaison and continue to visit a smaller caseload of day homes.
Northalta appreciates everyone’s support during the transition.
Northalta extends a heartfelt thank you to Barbara Makrocki for 23 years of service with Northalta!
Over the years Barbara has been a role model of professionalism by attending Northalta training opportunities and conferences.
She has welcomed numerous families into her day home over the years. She has hosted her annual Christmas concert for
families and Northalta staff. Barbara values diversity and welcomed children from all cultures and with varying abilities. She
devoted her life to children acknowledging they are all special and should have equal opportunities to learn. Barbara will be
missed and we wish her the best in the next chapter of her life.
