practice in writing.ii. Athlete must be courteous, respectful, and helpful and conduct her or his self as a lady or gentlemen.iii. Athlete must help teammates launch and dock at regattas and participate in the numerous tasks necessary to
keep the team functioning smoothly.iv. Athlete must be academically eligible the entire season.v. Athlete must participate in at least 3 service opportunities.vi. Seniors who have participated in rowing for at least 3 years are eligible for a varsity letter.
Uniforms/Apparel• Practice

• Tighter fitting tanks, t-shirts or sweatshirts for tops
• Jackets may be worn if needed, suggest dressing in layers, especially at beginning of season
• Socks and slip on shoes

• Tanks are handed out at each regatta and must be turned back in at the end of the regatta
• Tanks are numbered and tracked, athlete is responsible for ensuring their tank is turned back in

• These are handed out at sign-ups or beginning of the season
• Novices must remember to wear this shirt to events
• All racers must wear tight fitting black spandex shorts or leggings for racing
• Recommend purchasing from JL Athletics, PolyPro Trou: Black ($36.95 + shipping)
• Less costly options are ok, Dunhams provides a 10% discount if you tell them you are from Northview Rowing
• Socks & slip on shoes
• Lots of layers, blankets and rain boots are a good idea for between races
Donations of clean sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc. are appreciated for the boathouse and are especially appreciated during colder weather when athletes forget warm clothing or get wet.

• Food tent donation you signed up for
• Money, vendors will be selling regatta apparel, and your rower will most likely want something
Extra Information:
• Look for our oar blades or uniforms to identify our boats in races
• Stay off the docks, and other athlete only zones
• Be mindful boats and their swing radius when turning, the boats have the right of way. Don’t get hit in the head!
• Race results are often posted near the official’s table
Food Tent
Food
• Meals vary depending size of the regatta
• Goal is to provide healthy foods to fuel athletes between races.
• Athletes are discouraged from bringing junk food to events.
Volunteering
• All food and drinks are donated by parents.
• Volunteers set up and take down both the food and athlete tents, prepare the meals and staff food tent.
• Sign up genius is sent via email before each event to volunteer to donate specific food and drink items and work shifts. Mandy Thompson will be coordinating this.
Priority is to feed the athletes but everyone attending is welcome to eat
Transportation
Practice:
• Car Pool is encouraged
• Athletes are responsible for finding rides
Regattas:
• Parents are responsible for getting athletes to all local events.
• Car pools and possibly two school vans will be coordinated for travel to the away events.
• Athletes are expected to stay for the full event, plan accordingly
• Note: When a non-parent is planned to transport other athletes to an away event, they will be given those athlete’s medical release forms in a sealed envelope to bring along in case of an emergency. This envelope must be returned to the Rowing Board after the event.
LodgingEvents will begin early (~7am) and both are about 3 hours away so athletes should arrive the night before the event.
• Wy-Hi• Athletes will stay in the gym of a nearby high school• Sleeping pad or cot, sleeping bag and pillow will be needed for the
gym floor• 2-3 parents will be needed to supervise athletes overnight• Hotel suggestions and possibly a block of discounted rooms will be
provided to parents attending
• Culver• Athletes will stay in cabins (summer camp style) at the regatta site• Cabins house up to 12 athletes each and will be divided by gender• Cabin sign up sheet will be put up in boathouse prior to event• 2 female & 2 male parents will be needed to chaperone the 4 cabins• Parents may also book cabins or hotels are available in Culver
