  • About Norway

Norway is situated in the western part of the Scandinavian peninsula. It extends about 1,100 mi (1,770 km) from the North Sea along the Norwegian Sea to more than 300 mi (483 km) above the Arctic Circle, the farthest north of any European country. It is slightly larger than New Mexico. Nearly 70% of Norway is uninhabitable and covered by mountains, glaciers, moors, and rivers. The hundreds of deep fjords that cut into the coastline give Norway an overall oceanfront of more than 12,000 mi (19,312 km). Galdh Peak, at 8,100 ft (2,469 m), is Norways highest point and the Glma (Glomma) is the principal river, at 372 mi (598 km) long.

    Geography

  • Places To GoNational Geographic recommends Fjord Norway as one of 20 Best Trips for 2011. The fjords are water canals that penetrate from the coast and far into the mountain wilderness. Where the plains end, the mountains dive several hundred meters into the ocean, forming the

famous Norwegian fjords. Each fjord has its own characteristics. The tallest waterfalls are in the Geirangerfjord, and the Sognefjord is the worlds second longest fjord. The mountain formations around the Lysefjord are famous; especially Preikestolen (the Pulpit Rock) is fascinating.Visit www. fjordnorway.com

  • Things To DoThe World Ocean Space Center Concept

Constituting around 90,000 square meters of land specifically altered to be simulating as per the oceanic tableau, the world space centre stands to revolutionize the concept of marine studies because of the extent of the interest and effort involved to convert this research module into a reality. And when it comes to the simulating adaptability of this space centre, it has to be mentioned that even the Arctic climate zone will be

a part of the simulating module thus allowing the researchers, scientists and analysts to carry on with their studying and observations without having to worry about the omitting the influence of oceanic degeneration in the polar region from their researching.
