1 1 March 2018 NOTRE DAME NEWS FOUNDATIONS FOR LIFE-LONG LEARNING FROM THE PRINCIPAL THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK Dear Parents and Staff As we approach the end of the Second Week of Lent it is a good Dme to reflect on our Lenten promises. What did we decide to offer by way of Prayer, Penance or Almsgiving? Have we been true to ourselves in honouring our commitment? Maybe not, as the best of intenDons may be overlooked in the busyness of our lives. If this is the case it is not a Dme to be hard on ourselves, but to reassess and revisit our intenDons. Our God is all loving and aware of our humanity. He is always prepared to forgive if we are truly sorry. This is what we teach our Year Three children as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Penance and ReconciliaDon and it is equally applicable to each of us. In the words of Mother Teresa: God doesn’t require us to succeed; He only requires that you try. ASSEMBLY I’m looking forward to our first performance Assembly of the Year tomorrow and hearing about all of the wonderful things that the Year 2P children have learnt so far this year. MARKET NIGHT I’m also looking forward to our P&F’s Welcome back to school Market Night on Friday 9 March. This is a great opportunity for us all to gather and enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed environment. There will be a fantasDc array of food and drinks available to purchase so, unless you want to bring your own picnic meal, why not have a night off and enjoy the many great opDons that the P&F has arranged.
