    Training key Hispanic leaders

    around the world

    PLEASE, PRAY WITH US...

    1. For a blessed Christmas with our family in

Guatemala.2. For wisdom for Quique. He will be in Pan-

ama, Dec. 19-22, to participate with a team

that will plan a special training conferencefor theological schools in Latin America

    next year.

    3. Quique will preach the Christmas sermon

at our home church in Guatemala. Praythat he will motivate people to commit

    their life to the Lord.

    4. January 2-5, Quique will be in PueblaMexico, with two ProMETA members, to

provide training on how to design courses

for distance education. Please pray for wis-dom for him.

As we approach the end of this school term, we praise the Lord

for the way he has blessed us through you and your faithful sup-port, financially and in prayers. Please, accept our deep gratitude

for empowering us to serve the Lord as we train key Christian

leaders around the world. May the Lord reward you for your in-vestment in the lives of these leaders who otherwise would not

have the opportunity to acquire new skills for ministry. In Step with the Holy Spirit

We want to always have in mind that we cannot

train Christian leaders unless we are walking withthe Lord. We also recognize that we are not able tofulfill Gods call in our lives in our own power.

That is why, twice a year we hold a spiritual re-treat. We set aside three days, and invite a mature

leader to guide us through a time of solitude, pray-

er, corporate worship, and individual meditation.

Last November, we affirmed our commitment to

the warning of the biblical text; Unless the Lord

builds the house, the builders build in vain.

We praise the Lord for visiting us during our re-

    treat.

ProMETA has been blessed by the Lord with significant

alliances. One of them is the one we have with Vida

Abundante, a church in Costa Rica. Last November

Senior Pastor Ricardo Salazar (between Quique and

Keith), and Pastor of Discipleship Jason Cordero,

prayed for ProMETA, and promoted our programs in

their four services, with an attendance of over 4000

people. As a result, many potential students visited our

promotional table, and several of them enrolled in our

    Ministerial Courses.

We praise the Lord for the opportunity to have a local

church partner with us providing spiritual support as

well as wisdom when we need to make decisions.

2012 BUDGETAs we approach the end of 2011, we face animportant challenge. The Lord is giving ussignificant opportunities, but we will need toraise $800.00 a month of extra support to takeadvantage of them. Would you, please, con-sider helping us to continue training leadersand serving Bible schools in Latin America? Please hold the control key and click herewww.efca.org/give-now to increase or give usnew support.

We praise the Lord for a growing commitment, from theological schools in Latin America, topartner together to serve him and his church.Throughout the region, every year there are sev-eral opportunities to receive and provide train-ing, with the purpose of improving the trainingand equipping of key Christians leaders.

In this picture, Quique is with a group of profes-

sors and administrators of seminaries, who at-tended a three-day meeting, in Guatemala, sponsored by AETAL. This is an accreditingorganization which also provides training andopportunities for sharing to schools in LatinAmerica.

As a member of the Consulting Team, Quique continuesworking in support of Los Olivos Christian Mission. For several years now, Los Olivos has been implement-

ing a comprehensive plan focuses on four ministry are-as: spiritual, education, medical, and community devel-opment.

In this picture, Oscar Chiquito, the missionary who co-ordinates these efforts, is explaining to a vision teamhow the stoves that they are providing for poor familiesaround Sumpango, Guatemala, are changing not onlythe way these families cook, but also preventing themfrom getting diseases due to the smoke they were inhal-ing before when they cooked on the floor over a rusticfire .

In ProMETA, we have the commitment tokeep an eye and foot on the realities faced bythe churches pastored by our students. For thatreason, we make ourselves available to themwhen they need a speaker for special occa-sions. In this picture, Quique is addressing agroup of 80 people who attended a marriageseminar. These people are members of Princeof Peace church, which is having a significant

impact in the community, in the city of Carta-go. They expect that these activities will attractmany to the church and to the gospel.

Recently, ProMETA started the Ministerial Workshops, which areoffered to local churches in San Jose, Costa Rica. Quique had theopportunity to teach a workshop on Expository Preaching to a groupof 40 people, from five churches of the Christian and MissionaryAlliance. In this picture Quique is with a group on young leaders ofthese churches.

Becky is very glad that 19 people, from 6 coun-tries, finished their first Ministerial Course.

She is now getting ready for the new set ofcourses that will be offered starting in Febru-ary. Every month a new group of courses willbe offered, and we expect that the number ofstudents will grow exponentially.
