Meet the all-round good guy
Disney and Pixar’s newest film, The Good Dinosaur, is a prehistoric tale. It is based in a world where d inosaurs d idn ’ t go extinct. The roles are reversed, as dinosaurs adopt the responsibilities of civilisation like farming and herding, while humans remain wild and feral.
Arlo, the young and timid Apatosaurus struggles to make a mark on his father’s farm. When he finds himself lost in the wilderness with a young human child as a companion and protector, he is forced to confront his fears and find his way back home.
The Good Dinosaur was released on November 25, 2015.

Unveiling LAIKA’s newest song
Focus Feature is set to release LAIKA’S newest and most visually different feature, Kubo and the Two Strings. This action-adventure, stop-motion animated film is set in a mythical Japan. The first teaser trailer offers a taste of the film’s visual style and epic setting.
‘Kubo’ marks the directorial debut of animator and LAIKA’s CEO Travis Knight. Focus Feature has released all of the Portland-based animation studio’s previous features, including Coraline, Paranorman and The Boxtrolls. ‘Kubo’ will be launched in the USfirst, and will be distributed across the globe by Universal Pictures International.
The movie is set for release on August 19, 2016.

The VFx Gods are descending

Lionsgate unveils its VFx prowess in the new Gods of Egypt trailer. The upcoming feature stars Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, Elodie Yung, Courtney Eaton, Gerard Butler and Geoffrey Rush, as directed by Alex Proyas.
Bek, a clever mortal thief, teams up with a vengeful god to confront and combat the God of Darkness and his quest to destroy Life and Afterlife.
The trailer showcases dramatic digital backdrops and stunning visual effects, created under the supervision of VFx Supervisor Eric Durst. The visual effects were created by the talented VFx artists at Cinesite, Iloura, Raynault VFX, Rising Sun Pictures, Rodeo FX and Tippett Studio.
The ‘Gods of Egypt’ shall descend on February 26, 2016.
