Welcome

It gives me great delight to introduce the Cathedral’s Organ Festival 2018. Our splendid 2010 Harrison & Harrison organ continues to delight players and listeners alike. This year’s festival has another splendid line-up of recitals with varied and colourful programmes.

Each recital lasts about 70 minutes and is a perfect way to begin an evening in town. Admission is free with a retiring collection. A picture-in-picture camera linkup enables the audience to see the organist’s hands and feet on large screens in the Nave.

As well as the concerts listed here, organ recitals feature in the Friday Lunchtime recital series which runs from April to October: do look out for separate publicity for that. Of course you are also always welcome to join us for services, where the organ is heard nearly every day, superbly fulfilling its liturgical role.

I very much hope you will enjoy this Festival and look forward to welcoming you here.
