New Techniques and Technologies for Statistics (NTTS) is an international biennial scientific conference, organised by Eurostat, on the use and development of new technologies for statistical collection, production and dissemination systems. The conference intends to stimulate and facilitate the preparation of new innovative projects for the European Framework Programme for Research and Development, to encourage co-operation and creation of partnership between researchers and official statisticians with the aim of enhancing the quality and usefulness of official statistics. The previous NTTS conferences were held in 1992, 1995, 1998, 2001, 2009 and 2011.
The 2013 conference is oriented towards identifying ideas for future research projects related to Official Statistics. A particular emphasis is put on projects aligned with Horizon 2020, the new European Framework Programme for Research and Development that will be launched in 2014. Ample room is also given to presentations of the outcomes of recent research activities in statistics.
