we-tell-you-how Prepared by, Nazaruddin Hairazi Presentation by,

2. STRIPDRAIN is a prefabricated & flexible subsoil
drainage system to remove underground seepage water consists of a
HDPE inner drain core completely wrapped with a non woven
geotextile filter alternative to conventional perforated
pipe-gravel-geotextile systems mainly used for sport fields, roads,
highways, parks, golf courses, horse racing tracks, gardens,
slopes
3. CONVENTIONAL SUBSOIL DRAIN Aggregates Geotextiles
overwrapped around subsoil pipe (Optional) Perforated Subsoil Pipe

6. THREE IMPORTANT FACTORS IN DESIGNING SUBSOIL DRAINAGE Where
are the drainage outlets? Which is the best design that suit your
drainage parameters? Which is the best Stripdrain size and spacing
to support your drainage capacity?
8. Center of the field Stripdrain are less grade sensitive than
pipe drains due to their deep fin configuration, resulting in
self-contained hydraulic gradient. GRADIENT DETAIL

11. STRIPDRAIN BACKFILLING METHOD Sand / quarry dust Stripdrain
Top soil Typical cross-section of Stripdrain backfilling Initially,
the sand will be filled up partially like this to hold the
Stripdrain vertically
12. CONNECTIONS AND OUTLETS Cut slot in pipe approximately 3 mm
narrower than cross-section of core being used, in order to hold
the drain in place as shown. All pipe-to-geotextile joints must be
sealed with tapes Stripdrain can be connected to concrete pipe by
cutting a hole in the pipe wall and sealing around the Stripdrains
with mortar Stripdrain can be discharged into an open ditch using a
flume to protect the open end. Alternatively, Stripdrain can be
discharged directly into a gravel-filled trench
13. CONNECTION TO SUMPS Seal around the Stripdrain in the sumps
opening with mortar & geotextile
14. FINAL LOOK OF STRIPDRAIN END ATTHE SUMP The sump wall fully
plastered Sump cover
15. CONNECTION TO COLLECTOR PIPE
16. Seal filter with tape STRIPDRAlN upstream ends must be
covered over to ensure that soil cannot enter the drain. This is
done simply by cutting back the geotextile for 75- 100mm and
pulling back to expose the core. A section of core is removed and
the geotextile folded back and taped (suggested tape: PVC adhesive
tape).
17. STRIPDRAIN is joined simply by slitting the filter fabric
for 75-100mm and overlapping the core. The filter fabric is then
pulled back over the joint and taped to prevent soil entry.
18. PLACING SAND BLANKET Make sure the surface of sand
layer/blanket is well leveled, trimmed and flattened properly.
