THE OPPORTUNITY SENIOR SMARTPLANT 3D ADMINISTRATOR
Collaborating with the design team, the Senior SmartPlant 3D Administrator will be responsible for the set-up,
configuration, administering, and provision of technical support with regards to the SmartPlant 3D engineering
software, and overseeing its implementation for design, review, and generation of engineering deliverables for
Solaris-MCI. The Senior Administrator will manage all related activities of the SP3D server as well as the SP3D
reference database on the project, and other projects as required, ensuring that all of the SP3D software
components have been customized and/or enhanced, and have been properly integrated according to the
unique and specific needs of the project(s). The SP3D Administrator is actively involved during the project’s
definition, design, execution, and close-out stages, and will provide systems support from project conception
to completion.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior SP3D Administrator’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Managing and functionally participating in SP3D system implementation and platform set-up (project
templates, project settings, ISOGen set-up, Orthos, set-up reports);
• Liaising with the various engineering disciplines in the configuration requirements for the project(s);
• Loading, testing, and maintaining reference data libraries for SP3D projects;
• Creating and maintaining the SP3D MSSQL project server Database;
• Managing the project SP3D setup and customization activities;
• Interfacing with IT during installation of SP3D software and related software on each required workstation;
• Interfacing between the SP3D system and any external CAD or analysis environments; and
• Working with discipline specialists in developing libraries, specs, templates, reports, filters, user roles, view
types, etc. for use by designers.

THE PERSON
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:
• Five to ten years of experience of support, integration, and development of an intelligent EDS in an EPCM
environment;
• Five to ten years of experience in multi-discipline plant design and modeling in an EPCM environment;
• Five to ten years of experience in support, integration, and development of SP3D in an EPCM environ-
ment;
• Diploma in Engineering, Design, or a similar degree in Engineering or an equivalent related field;
• Current experience on SP3D support, administration, and coordination;
• Ability to actively initiate project activities;
• Ability to represent the system in discussion with project management and customer representatives;
• Ability to contribute to man-hour estimates and plan project work load for EDS support team based on
project experience;
• Ability to mentor junior Administrators with similar skill-sets;
• Experience guiding and supporting a group of Project EDS personnel to meet project requirements;
• Experience with a database reference data system is an asset (ex: SPRD); and
• Experience with the Intergraph PDS is an asset.
