At working place, attitude and job satisfaction is what matter to the
most organization nowadays.
Our group chooses this topic to enhance our knowledge and
experience regarding this field of study in Organizational Behavior
Course.

1). Definition of Attitude and Job Satisfaction
Attitude: A state in which man moves to act or do in social activities with certain feelings in response to a situation or condition of the objects in the surrounding environment.
Job satisfaction: Is how content an individual is with his or her job. Affective job satisfaction is the extent of pleasurable emotional feelings individuals have about their jobs overall.

individual likes his or her job.
2. Job Involvement: Defined as the degree to
which one is cognitively pre-occupied with,
engaged in, and concerned with one’s present job.

extent to which an individual identifies with
an organization and is committed to its goals.

Types of Job Satisfaction1. Job specification: A job specification is an official document which
describes the duties, required knowledge, skills and abilities, employee characteristics and minimum qualifications of State jobs.
2. Job enlargement: Job enlargement is simple defined as the horizontal level expansion of a job.

6). How do Attitude and Job Satisfaction relate? It is a key factor in realizing organizational and individual
goals that in turn greatly depends on individual’s self-motivation and job satisfaction. Job satisfaction is one’s attitude towards his job (positive or negative).
Satisfaction in work and the work environment is the basicconstituent of employee job satisfaction.

The emotional state of a worker while working is critical to job attitudes and
the wellbeing at work which is significant in characterizing job attitude.
Supervision has a significant relationship with productivity.
Co-workers are a common source of job stress.
Compensation and progression function as positive reinforcement.
The supervisor's personality strongly influences the subordinate's satisfaction
with the supervisor.

Detective Matthews has been employed by the East Hartford
Township Police Department since January of 1989.
Detective Matthews first worked as a patrol officer and was
awarded Officer-of-the-Year in 1991. Due to his excellent
investigation skills, he was promoted to the position of detective
in 1993.
Detective Matthews’ case load includes investigations of
robbery, theft, fraud, and an occasional homicide, however, he
specializes in the investigation of child abuse and sexual
assaults that occur in East Hartford Township.
Conclusion and Recommendation
1). Conclusion Work attitudes are our feelings toward our company and job.
Therefore, companies track feelings toward work and try to create more positive attitudes.
The main behaviors that contribute to organizational effectiveness are job performance,
citizenship behaviors, absenteeism, and turnover.
These behaviors are affected by a complex blend of personality and situational factors, and
factors affecting these behaviors and work attitudes will be examined in more detail in
other chapters of this book.

Change the current organizational structure for the purpose of proper communication of knowledge and information from the top management people to the general employees to achieve organizational goals and objectives
continue the current practices and approaches within the workplace for the better involvement and participation of all employees into the decision making process within the organization
should be regular meetings and gatherings within the general employees and top management personnel to share knowledge and information as well as to collect feedback and suggestions from the general employees
should adopt and implement on regular basis both measuring of job satisfaction and work performance and thus provide relevant support and guidance to improve the skills and competencies that can create more job satisfaction and better work performance
