PEOPLE Henkel Corp., Gulph Mills, Pa., has announced that James W. Harri- son has been named president of the new business group formed by the union of Hen- kel's Parker Am- chem Group and the business of No- vamax Technologies Inc. Harrison has more than 30 years of experience in the metal pretreatment industry including technical, managerial, and interna- tional positions. He joined Amchem Products Inc. in 1960. Following Am- chem's acquisition by Henkel and its merger with Henkel's Parker unit, Har- rison served as Vice President of mar- keting, technology, international, and most recently, Asia-Pacific. Rapid Engineering Inc., Comstock l ~ Park, Mich., has promoted David Allen Parks to Product Specialist. Primary functions in Park's new role ~ ,, ~ includetechnical support, providing working on special projects, educating field technicians, managing service schools, and supporting research and development projects. Parks has been with the company for 15 years and has acquired valuable experience while di- recting the wiring, start-up, and prod- uct testing of HVAC equipment as Electrical Department Supervisor. Degussa Corp., Ridgefield Park, N.J., announced that Uli yon Sehlippenbaeh has been named Vice President of the Metallurgy Div. Working within the company's Metal Group, he is responsible for develop- ing new partnerships, overseeing TQM practices, and ensuring just-in-time de- livery of finished products. Prior to joining Degussa, yon Schlippenbach served as the Quality Assurance Man- ager for Degussa AG's Metal Div. in Hanau, Germany. The Engineered Systems Div. of Ki. netico Inc., New- bury, Ohio, has an- nounced the appointment of Jen- nifer Turner as Technical Sales Rep- resentative. Turner will be responsible for increasing sales of the industrial water treatment systems in the mid-central re- gion of the U.S. She brings to the company over seven years of experience in environ- mental wastewater treatment. The company 1s also pleased to an- nounce the promo- tion of George Sendrey to Techni- cal Specialist. Sen- drey will be re- sponsible for pilot system and treat- ability study test re- sults. He will also assist in developing specific process designs for water/ wastewater treatment applications. Sendrey comes to the Engineered Sys- tems Div. from Corporate Headquar: ters where he held the position of Sci- entist in the Analytical/Applications Laboratory Department of the Re- search and Development area. OBITUARY The Grieve Corp., Palatine, Ill., and the Grieve family regret to an- nounce the passing of G.P. Grieve, founder of the company, on October 25, 1996. He was 84. Price Grieve began his company with a $1,000 in- vestment in a small metal shop in 1949. Shortly thereafter, a customer requested he build a small bench oven, over a weekend. He completed the task and thus began a journey that sees The Grieve Corp. today as a leading world- wide supplier of industrial ovens, fur- naces, pharmaceutical sterilizers, and heat processing systems. Grieve per- sonally designed and developed the company's original ovens and super- vised the daily operation of the busi- ness.
