Asakhe Events is an organisation that is dedicated to redressing the imbalances of the past and has played a significant role in removing barriers for the youth to enter various professions. As a valued corporate we take this opportunity to cordially invite you to support the Sage Pastel Accounting and Financial Services Careers Convention to be held at The Airport Grant Hotel & Conference centre on the 13th & 14th March 2013. We are therefore particularly pleased that the focus of this convention is on careers in accounting and financial services as the development of scarce skills in this sector is a key element in promoting economic development and growth. The AFS Careers Convention and Expo will cover a broad spectrum of careers available in these different industries. This day will prove to be an eye opening experience for the learners and the youth of Ekurhuleni. They will interact with major employers and executives that will provide them with insight into their industries, what courses are critical for scholars to focus on and which fields of work lack skills. We have also invited educational institutions to address the scholars on different educational paths available in these sectors. The importance of this careers convention hinges on its capacity to empower young people by providing them with the necessary information regarding career choices. More importantly, it opens up new vistas and horizons and exposes the students to all the career options and opportunities now available to them, especially in the accounting and finance related fields. This is important because the development of science and technology is central to the national Human Resource Development Strategy. 100 Schools from all districts in the Ekurhuleni will be invited to participate. They will send their top learners from Grade 11 & 12 who are excelling in Maths, Science and Accounting and especially those that want to enter this sector. Objectives of the Convention and Expo To expose the youth, particularly high school learners, to various career options open to them with in these sectors. To facilitate person-to-person interaction between employers in specific fields and the youth on career related issues. To create an information platform for young people to broaden their horizons in terms of career goals and options. This includes both traditional employment and self-employment. To facilitate person-to-person interaction between still-at-school youth and potential employers, training institutions and employment agencies. To contribute to the stepping up of career guidance and counselling facilities in disadvantaged schools. • To contribute to the capacitating of teachers for career guidance and counselling purposes. Event Program and Overview

Career planning convention

The convention is the formal and structured part of the day. Officials from various financial organisations will conduct presentations. The objective of this session is to:• Provide learners with career opportunities available• Inspire and motivate learners

Educational path presentation

Administrators of various faculties of financial institutions will present educational path presentations from FET and Tertiary institutions. They will provide insight on the sector, what courses are critical for learners to concentrate on as well as grade and entry requirements.

Corporate presentation

Human Resources Managers, recruiting for the accounting and financial services related companies, will provide an insight on their organisations, what careers are available within their companies, what bursary programs they have, which learnerships they work with, the interns they look for as well as a basic career outline.

Role models

Professionals in the relevant industries will share their experiences at the convention and what challenges they had to overcome to get to where they are today. These young role models will be professionals that originate from the local area.

Exhibition

The expo will be open to attendants for the entire duration. This session will provide for a one-on-one attention and in-depthunderstanding of each industry.

1. Cancellation Policy

All our event co-ordinators are qualified event consultants which are removed from their various consulting schedule to honour this event. Due to this the following cancellation policies exist

Scheduled event may be cancelled in writing up to 60 days prior to the actual event commencement date. A 25% cancellation fee will be levied for such a cancellation.

2. Payment Terms & Conditions

Invoices will be sent upon confirmation of specified date of event. A 50% deposit is to be paid upon receipt of invoice; the balance is to be paid within 30 days of specified date of event. Original Invoices will be mailed for your records.

Asakhe careers reserves the right to cancel any event booked if payment is not received as specified in this proposal, and normal cancellation policies will be incurred in such a case.

3. Conclusion

4. Final Approval

I/We the undersigned hereby accept the attached Terms and Conditions of Sale; and confirm that the information stated here is both true and correct in every aspect. Furthermore I/We give Asakhe careers authorisation to complete the booking and facilitation of the project as stipulated in this proposal and confirm that I am authorised by my organisation to approve agreement on their behalf.

In the event of any dispute resolution and or the institution of legal action, the aforesaid information can and will be used, unless this information has been changed or amended in writing by yourself/itself.
