Relationship= Bond or connection between two people

MASLOW'S HIERARCHY OF NEEDS

Abraham Maslow was born in 1908. Maslow was interested in mental health and human potential. In 1943, Maslow introduced his hierarchy of needs. Maslow‘s hierarchy of needs is an attempt to classify human needs in order of importance. With his hierarchy of needs, Maslow focused more on positive mental health than most that studied before him. Maslow's theories, including the hierarchy of needs have had a great and lasting impact on the humanistic approach to psychology and are still used in many facets of life today.

• Level 3 - Love and belonging needs - Sometimes referred to as social needs. Interaction with others and acceptance by others. This is the first level of higher level needs and centers around emotionally based relationships. Includes friendship, love, belonging to a group, intimacy, and family life. If these needs are not satisfied people may become susceptible to loneliness and depression. One can satisfy love and belonging needs through involvement in social, community, or religious groups.
