Quinton Cermak (8th Grade Social Studies)– Blackboard Blogs •Studying federalists (for the constitution) and anti-federalists (against the constitution).
•Blog program used was in a link through Blackboard.•From a list of arguments, students blogged about one of them.•Comment on other students’ blog posts.
Deb Hepper (6th Grade Science) – Science Website•Learning about atoms, protons, neutrons, and electrons•Exploratory website•Students would have to continually rearrange the protons, neutrons, and electrons in the model of an atom until it was correct.
Kathy Norwick (6th Grade Math) - Google Docs PowerPoint •Google Docs to collaborate on a PowerPoint together>•In this project the students were asked to come up with a business and supply their business with t-shirts, advertisement, and flyer cost.
•Linked to real websites where student had to price out the costs.
Elementary Observations
MaryChar Erickson• Google Docs to discuss Maniac Magee.• Students had not used the program.• Got to the discussion groups though their class
wiki.• Students learned how to adapt to technology
since it is all about how we adapt to the problems and become critical thinkers.
Bethany Swart• She uses this program as an additive to their
math curriculum not a replacement• Was a great additive to the lessons that they had
been learning in their daily math lessons. • Procedure for getting their computers.• Definitely tell that the students had a familiarity
with the technology and had used the program before.
Middle School ConferenceMary Wiltgen “Classroom Technology and Strategies Across the Curriculum”• All of the resources presented were free websites to use in your classroom.
• Handout chart - included information such as a breakdown of uses, login information, and required information to use the sight.
Kelly Reinert “Finding Resources: Technology Integration and Differentiation for your Classroom” • Many of the strategies were based on the resources given from the textbook companies on CD-ROMs.
• Information that I could bring back to core teachers at my school that have a textbook curriculum
