Summary and Conclusions
• Observations in developing chimney clouds ---Updraft velocities ranging from 5-14 m/s ---Temperatures from +7 to -7C
• Active ice formation process at T>-5 to -7C~.1/L• For ICE-T clouds, secondary ice particles are
prevalent near -5C with low LWCs and vertical velocities, undetectable with higher LWCs and w’s.
• ICE-D (“dust) in 2015 from Cape Verde, AF, will target the effects of dust on cloud processes.
