Boat Show Report We did it, again!!!!! Over 80 members worked the boat show. Charlie Dorman and his faithful sidekick, Carol, had everything ready. The ad book was super. Advertising got the word out! Vendors were aided by the credentials and hospitality crews. Thousands of tickets and wrist band were used and show books given out. The pirates were special as were the info folks. What a super weekend!!!!! Charlie's able assistants lead the charge: Carol, Lew Frey, Joe Hammen, Les McKee, Steve Acton, Jim Flaig, Charlie Smith, Melva Middleton and many of optimists made it all go well. Marcie Mitchell still makes the best crumb cake on best buns on the beach. Charlie will have a report at the March dinner and Rich Dalton will have numbers on the lotto.

Election of Officers We will elect officers for 10/20 to 9/21 at our April dinner meeting. We will elect a president, two VPs and three board members. The will join the past president secretary, treasurer, Sgt at Arms and major committee members. Want to run for a position???? Let Bill Hickey or Charlie Smith know so you can be on the ballot. Springfest Beer Truck The club will have a beer truck at Spring Fest as well as provide ushers for the Spring Fest shows. Lew Frey will handle the ushers. Charlie Dorman and Steve Acton will lead the beer truck effort. Charlie Smith will line up workers for the truck. The schedule will be as follows: Thursday May 7th thru Sunday May 10th Thursday 10-2/ 2-6/ 6-10 Three 4 hour shifts of 5 persons Friday and Saturday same three shifts Sunday 11-2 and 2-5, Two three hour shifts of 5 people. On Friday, February 14, the Ocean City/Berlin Optimist Club's High School Student Art Contest winners were announced at the 2nd Friday Reception at the Worcester County Arts Council. The winners were as follows: DRAWING: 1st Place - Lauren Stull- Stephen Decatur High 2nd Place - Nadia Bullock - Stephen Decatur High 3rd Place - Ariel Alavarado - Stephen Decatur High Honorable Mention - Serap Aksu - Stephen Decatur High PAINTING: 1st Place - Elizabeth Thornton - Snow Hill High 2nd Place - Anayellie Reyes - Pocomoke High 3rd Place - Henna Parmar - Worcester Preparatory School Mention - Lauren Moses - Snow Hill High PEOPLE'S CHOICE: Anayelli Reyes - Pocomoke High JUDGES: Tom Hogan and Geo McElroy Elizabeth Thornton (1st place in painting), her mother and sister, and teacher, Monica Forrester will be attending our March 5 meeting. We will also have three pieces of work on display at the meeting: 1st place in Drawing 1st place in Painting 3rd place in Painting (Henna Parmar is also one of the winners of the essay contest)
