FILMING FOR BUSINESS
AWARDS PRESENTATION
GALA DINNER EVENING
At our Head Office in
Hull this week we had a
visit from a film crew
who were with us to
make a short film about
our achievements in the
area of exports. If you
received the July Nesco
News you may recall we
have been short listed
for a Business Award for
Export and as part of the
award a film is made to
be shown at the awards
dinner and for us to
keep afterwards, so look
out for it on our
YouTube and web site in
the next few weeks. The
film features just a very
small amount of our
activities but it will give a
flavour of our company’s
activities.

Busy Times for Nesco in the Run-Up to Christmas
iceberg.
We are also including in
these news letters from now
on technical updates which
will be written by my
colleague John Wealsby, so
that your engineers,
technicians and sales
personnel will be kept up to
date with the latest moves in
weighing technology as well
as information on technical
achievements accomplished
by the Nesco Group.
Look out for the Technical
‘Nibbles’ later.
Hello and welcome to the
Nesco News for the third
quarter of 2011, only a few
weeks to Christmas!!!
Summer was again a very
busy time for all of us in the
Nesco Group with new
products coming on-stream,
which I will feature later.
Being short listed for a
business export award, sales
of new weigh-bridges and
upgrades for our old
Wavecheetah systems now
available to our customers
and that are just the tip of the

This is an area that my
colleague John Wealsby
is working on and I
know that there has
been some progress
made so I will leave
that for John to cover
that area in his

Nesco has been considering
Self Verification for a number
of years now, having first
discussed the challenges with
the UK Weighing
Federation’s Chief Technical

We have now found
ourselves in a position
whereby the number of
requests for re
weighing machines and
weighbridges is increasing to
such a level that we now
need to put the final blocks
in to place, which would
include new ISO9001

training for
engineers.
A recent visit to the newly
appointed Chief Tec

going to allow
the transition to having both
Nesco and Mordue engineers
qualified for re

New Weighbridge
Leaflets
We have been supplying
British made, or should that
be Yorkshire made Weigh
Bridges for almost two years
now but until very recently
we didn’t have a leaflet on
these products available,
but now we have. We offer
the Cardinal 225 or 825
indicators with these
products so together they
make a quality piece of
equipment. View the full
leaflet from the website:

Mordue Atex Success
Mordue Brothers Director
Simon Hyde and Lead Engineer
Jim Fegan have recently
completed the latest Atex
training courses, so they are
now all set up to offer our
North East customers
equipment for explosive areas
and be fully conversant with all
the latest requirements for
service and installation of this
very specialised equipment.
Mordues have contracts in
some of the most potentially
dangerous chemical factories in
the North East so they now
have the opportunity to expand
that area of expertise and to go
after more organisations
working in the chemical and
petro chemical industries.
NEW CARDINAL STORM &
REFURBISHED DISPLAY
AREA
We have now received the
first of what I expect to be
many of the new Cardinal
190 Storm Indicators and it
is taking pride of place in
our refurbished
display/demonstration and
shop window area.
The old show room has
been completely
transformed into a shop
window display,
demonstration area, final
inspection and dispatch
area.
The 190 Storm indicator
takes pride of place sitting
immersed in a tank with a
constant shower of water
poring over it, live and
attached to a weigh
platform.
To say this is impressive
would be an
understatement.
The 190 Storm has IP69K
water and power protection
and will be used in various
new development systems
we are currently working
on.
I am sure John will be
featuring these in his section
over the coming months.
Mordue Brothers Success, Now
ISO9001 Accredited
Nesco’s Newcastle Branch Has Now
Completed It’s ISO9001:2008 Accreditation
Early in the month of
October Mordue
Brothers received a
visit from NQA our
quality control
auditors and after an
exhaustive
investigation
awarded Mordue
Brothers Limited the
ISO 9001 quality
standard.
This is down to the
extensive work
carried out by Pip
Hodgins (pictured)
our Quality Co-
ordinator and all the
staff at the
“ISO ACCREDITATION JUST
EMPHESISES THE QUALITY OF THE
WORK CARRIED OUT”
Newcastle Branch in
Hebburn.
To obtain the ISO
9001 accreditation is
no mean feat as it is
something that
Mordue had been
striving for and had
failed to achieve
before they were
taken over by the
Nesco Group, Having
ISO 9001
accreditation just
emphasises the
quality of the work
that is carried out by
our staff and gives
the customers even
more confidence in
our abilities.
Featured Staff Member
Alex Chadwick
Alex has been with us from
leaving School and is just about to
come out of his Apprenticeship
but he has already finished his
normal Technical College studies
which he passed with flying
colours and has asked if he can go
on to do his Higher National
Certificate.
As Nesco Weighing has a policy of
Continual Personal Development
we were delighted to be able to
back Alex and to allow him time
off in order to carry on his studies
for his HNC and we all wish him
well.
Alex is a highly valued member of
our staff and he is currently
carrying out in house training in
the Product Development Section
on some of most advanced
systems that we work on.

To Conclude
We continue to develop our personnel as well as our product but that is what we believe the Nesco Weighing Group is all about.
We can do the ordinary but we like to be challenged and to continually develop our company skills base as well as our personal
development, that way we bring added value and profits to our customers and partners.
We push the boundaries of what is possible as we believe that to stand still is just another way to go backwards
