A Our Lady of Fatima public Rosary is held across the United States on the Saturday closest to the actual day of The Miracle of the Sun which took place on October 13th. MQP will be doing a Fatima Public Rosary Rally in honor of Miracle of the Sun at the entrance to Mary, Queen of Peace at noon on Saturday, October 16th. Please join us as we celebrate the Miracle of the Sun and the month of the rosary, while also being a public witness to our neighbors in Sammamish of this beautiful prayer!

High School students meet after the 11AM Mass on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month and Middle School will meet after the 11AM Mass on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month. More info at: mqpyouth.org.

MQP is again collecting hats and scarves for the homeless. Please share your talent by knitting, crocheting or cutting fleece to make scarves or hats and place them in the basket in the rear of the church in the month of October. They will be delivered to the homeless in November. Last year we were so grateful to receive around 200 items-for men, women and children.

ALL ARE WELCOME!!! Come to Family Adoration Night starting on Wednesday, October 20th from 6:45pm-8pm in the Church. Join us for an evening of music, quiet time in prayer, and reflection. Registrations are not required.

Thank you for those who filled out the Planning Survey. Registration for Family Formation and Sacramental Preparation goes live in late October. Stay tuned! Volunteers are needed as station leaders and catechists. Contact [email protected] for ways you can help!

St. Teresa of Ávila | Feast Day October 15 St. Teresa of Ávila (1515-1582) was a Spanish Carmelite nun who lived in the 16th century. She was a mystic and author of spiritual writings and poems. The originator of the Carmelite Reform, she founded numerous convents throughout Spain and restored a contemplative life to the order. She became well known for the mystical experiences, many of which she described in her autobiography. The first of only four women to be named a Doctor of the Church, St. Teresa’s ascetic doctrine and Carmelite reforms shaped Roman Catholic contemplative life, and her writings on the Christian soul's journey to God are considered works of art. Her writings, especially the “Way of Perfection” and “The Interior Castle,” have helped generations of believers. St. Teresa of Avila died on Oct. 15, 1582. She was canonized on March 22, 1622, along with three of her greatest contemporaries: St. Ignatius Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, and St. Philip Neri. ©LPi

Volunteers get to choose the tasks they wish to help with such as transportation, shopping, housekeeping, laundry, and yard work. Just let us know how, where, and when you want to volunteer and we’ll find you a great match. Our greatest need is in Issaquah/Sammamish, right in your own back yard!
