Stewardship: Jesus healed ten lepers in today’s Gospel.
Only one came back to say thank you. I, too, have received
many blessings from the Lord—indeed, all I am and all I have
is gifts! How often have I remembered to thank God?
Marriage Corner: Today’s Gospel reading (Luke 17:11-
19) recounts the story of the ten lepers. All were healed, but
only one returned to thank Jesus. For what can you thank
your spouse today?
Prayer & Thought
Please Remember in your Prayers
Patricia Lersten and
Maureen Raymond (Bob Hauser’s mother-in-law)
May the Lord grant peace and consolation
to their families in their time of need. May
they, and all who sleep in Christ, find
God’s presence, light, happiness, and
peace.

Often people attend Mass at St. Cecilia’s for months but never
officially register. Registering as a member is the expression
of your commitment to being part of our parish community.
Being a registered parishioner also makes the process much
simpler when it is time for receiving sacraments, registering
for faith formation, sponsoring a sacrament recipient, and
planning events. A registered parishioner also receives all
parish mailings that will keep you connected with St. Cecilia.
You may register on our website at www.stcames.org or
contact the Parish Office at 233-3092.
65% Tax Credit Too Good to be True? Not at all. If you file
an Iowa Income Tax Return, your contributions to the Our
Faith School Tuition Organization (STO) receive a 65%
tax credit. That means for every $1000 you donate, you
receive an Iowa income tax credit of $650, which reduces
your Iowa tax liability for $650. In addition, your gift may
qualify for federal deductibility. And that gift you made? It
helps make a Catholic school education affordable for every
child, regardless of their families’ financial situation. Visit
www.OurFaith sto.org or call the Archdiocese of Dubuque
at 800-876-3546 ext. 219 or 307 to learn more.
Encourage One Another
In 1 Thessalonians 5 Paul writes, “Therefore encourage one
another and build each other up….encourage the timid, help
the weak, be patient with everyone.” For those who are
experiencing a really difficult time, a Stephen Minister can
provide the special encouragement, care, and support they
need until they are past the crisis. Currently the Ames
Catholic Community Stephen Ministry has 25 active Stephen
Members and are ministering to 22 care receivers. If you
would like more information on our Stephen Ministry
program, please call Anne Schmitt (515-291-8257) or Deacon
Mark Bortle (515-291-4989).
Sunday, October 27
Trunk or Treating will begin at 4:30pm.
