Meditation with Deacon Joe
Meditation is being held - as usual, on Tuesday afternoons
at 2:00 pm in the Parish Center where Sunday Mass is
held. We welcome back old friends who have been
meditating with us for a while – and we look forward to
meeting newcomers who might be thinking of joining us at
this time of “new normalcy”. Remember to bring your
mask with you. No one will be admitted without a mask.
I’ll be happy to see all of you.
Deacon Joe
Mass and Masks
Masks are required for Mass attendance.
Masks should cover the nose and mouth and remain
on for the entire Mass.

REFLECTION
“Brothers and sisters: Have no anxiety at all, but in
everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
make your requests known to God.” These are
comforting words from St. Paul in today’s second
reading that remind us to fully trust in God.
LIVING STEWARDSHIP
PILLAR of PRAYER
As the reading suggests, pray this week with total trust
in God. Ask Him for guidance, pray for others, and
thank Him for all He has done for you.
PRAYER REQUESTS
There is a great power in prayer. It is our lifeline to God. Through it
we communicate with God, and people are strengthened, helped, and
made whole’
Do you know of some concern, or of some person with a special need
for whom we ought to pray? If so print out this form and place it in
the offering basket or return it to the parish office.

A PRAYER FOR CIVILITY
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where uncivil words prevail, show me how to model love.
Help me remember the God-given dignity of all and invite
others to do the same,
Show me how to build bridges and not walls and see first what
unites us rather than how we diverge.
Let me seek to understand before asking to be understood.
Give me a listening heart filled with empathy and compassion.
May I be clear in sharing my own position and respectful and
civil in describing those of others.
Let me never tolerate hateful ideas.
May I invite all to charity and love.
Lord, help me to imitate your compassion and mercy.
Make me an instrument of your peace.
Amen.

Walking with the Lord
Reappointment as Pastor
As things got misplaced in the mail, I have received my letter of appointment from Bishop Barres as Pastor of
Immaculate Conception from June 24, 2020 to June 24, 2026! So I look forward to continuing our journey
together as a parish family. There have been difficult days and some more difficult times ahead but together we
will continue to grow in the knowledge and love of God and one another. Thank you for your continued
prayers and support. For now, we continue our walk with the Lord.

who do not yet know Christ. If you are or you know someone who is interested in this process, please contact
Deacon Joe at 631 288-1423. Sessions will begin soon.
Respect Life
Sunday, October 4 is Respect Life Sunday. As we celebrate Respect Life Sunday, we are reminded that the
assaults on human dignity come in many forms. The Office of Human Life, Family and Bioethics is charged
with deepening our already strong commitment to pro-life activities and Parish Education. Please support this
vital work through participation with the special Respect Life envelope. Your prayers and asistance are greatly
appreciated.
