Advent Events…Coming Soon
As the holy season of Advent begins, we have many exciting events
happening in the life of our church family.
Sunday, November 27
Hanging of the Greens will be part of the services in the Sanctuary and Chapel. We will decorate our worship spaces in preparation for the coming of the Christ Child.
Sandi Patty Concert at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary. This will be part of Sandi’s final Christmas concert tour. As
a gift to our community, we are offering this concert free of
charge, with no tickets required. There will be a Love
Offering received.
Due to Sound Checks and Rehearsals, doors will not open
until 5:30 PM. Entry will be through the front Sanctuary
doors on Magnolia Street only. Handicap access will be
permitted through the back, but will be regulated. This concert will be a memorable way to begin the Advent
season.

Sandi Patty
We will be packing 100 Lunches of Love for Loachapoka, after school
children, on Wednesday, December 14 at 1:00pm. Needed food items that are
difficult to obtain from the Food Bank: Jelly in plastic jars, crackers and
cereal. There is a plastic bin in the Mathison Lobby reception office to
receive donations. Thank you to our “Rooted” Sunday night children who
packed the 100 Thanksgiving bags and brought cereal. Let Sally Granberry
know if you would like to help pack on December 14, or help deliver at
4:00pm.
REACH Respite Program REACH Respite Program
In cooperation with other area churches and community organizations, AUMC has launched the REACH
Community Respite Program (Refresh, Encourage,
Activities, Care, Hope).
For REACH Participants:
REACH is now being offered every Tuesday for the remainder of the year from 10:00am – 2:00pm* with lunch provided.
The cost for each Respite Day is $30/day and includes art, mental and physical exercise and interaction with other participants and volunteers.
This ministry is for persons with early to moderate memory issues. Participants must be able to interact socially and attend to their own
bathroom needs.
Those interested in participating must apply through Auburn United Methodist Church. Applications are now available.

Christmas (December 27)

Please help us celebrate the coming of the Christ Child by making a donation in Honor or Memory of someone special.
Poinsettias will be placed in the Sanctuary, Chapel and Fellowship Hall (Resonate).
Forms (two-sided) are available in the Sunday bulletin and at the church office. The deadline is December 8 (DEADLINE EXTENDED).
Cost is $10 per light or $15 per poinsettia.
A booklet will be produced and available during the Advent Season. For each remembrance, make checks payable to AUMC, Poinsettia/Lights. Place
in the offering plate or bring by the church office.

Bring your children for Christmas musical fun, a story and homemade Christmas cookies! Classes each week will be a different theme. Each class
costs $10.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the Food Pantry Thanksgiving distribution a huge success! Our church provided Thanksgiving
boxes with turkey and all of the fixins for 401 families in Lee County. We
couldn't do it without all the volunteers and the generosity of AUMC church
members. Thank you!
Please remember the Food Pantry as you travel over the holidays. We love to share shampoo, lotion and soap with our visitors. Just put your extra
toiletries in the Food Pantry tubs in the Mathison Lobby and Hamill Court.
Jubilee Book Club
Please join us Monday, November 28 to discuss the book “Lorendo” by Kenneth Ringer. Joyce Ringer will lead the
discussion. All ages are encouraged to come and participate. There
will be no meeting in December but the January discussion will be
on the book “Just Mercy” by Bryan Stevenson. EASE House Outreach
Monday, November 28, at 6:00pm in the EASE House Lobby.
You are invited to help serve snacks, assist Bingo players, and chat with residents.

We are looking for adult and college volunteers to help lead table discussions during 9:30 Youth Sunday School each week.
There is no prep work involved and one of our youth interns will be the master teacher for each class.
