Providing the right choice for your customer.

Most electrical contractors are aware of the many energy efficient products available on the market, but do you know which products provide the greatest benefit to your customers?

Middy’s Energy Smart has been setup to provide product knowledge and installation information to make you an expert on energy efficient products. We want you to feel confident offering your customers energy efficient solutions that will provide a practical solution for long term savings.

Conduct an ‘Energy Smart Audit’ for your customers, then upgrade them to more energy efficient models. Most consumers are not aware of how much energy these new products are capable of saving them. When informed they typically choose to spend the extra outlay to get the payback over a few years.

Providing Energy Smart Audits to customers provides them with all the options so they can make an educated decision.

The background of our ‘Respect the

Channel’ logo is that Middy’s as a key

industry participant is concerned at the

potential changes that are taking place

within the industry. New channels of

electrical materials to both electricians and

direct to the public threaten the traditional

distribution model of supplier to

wholesaler to contractor to consumer.

Online suppliers are offering products

that may not comply with Australian safety

standards and can pose a serious threat to

you and your customers. Additionally if you

purchase these products, you may find your

business exposed to potential liability

should the products fail and cause fire,

injury or death from electrocution.

When customers buy and install

components from wholesalers such

as Middy’s they have the security of

knowing that we sell quality products

from recognised brands. We maintain

adequate insurances and are able to

support products we sell thereby providing

peace of mind to you and your customers.

Major DIY retail chains are ramping up

their focus on the Australian electrical

market. These companies offer direct sales

to consumers and aim to cut out both the

wholesaler and the electrician.

Under Australian law it is illegal for

consumers to install fixed electrical products.

Retailers also expose prices on key product

lines and limit the ability for you the

electrician to charge a margin on materials.

We support quality brands that provide the

installer with the peace of mind that the

product can be used with confidence and

that call backs, due to product failure, will

be minimal.

Middy’s invests heavily in new

technologies with the objective of

growing business opportunities for you

and your business. This investment is

entirely focussed on providing you with

broad business support so you can be

confident in offering an expanded range

of services to your customers and therefore

grow your business. We have a proven track

record of doing this in the areas of security,

automation, datacomm and energy

smart solutions.

Middy’s commitment is to

‘Respect the Channel’ of

Supplier – Wholesaler – Contractor.

Middy’s have been supplying electrical materials to the electrical industry since 1928. We have always supported you, the electrical contractor, as our channel to market. We work closely with Industry Associations to promote the safety of the installer to the consumer and support the concept of ‘Don’t Risk It – Use A Licenced Electrician’.

One product family ABB presents a new generation of first class components: manual motor starters, contactors, overload relays

and softstarters for motor starting solutions up to 18.5kW.

Starting optionsThe PSR range is the most compact of all the ABB softstarter range making it possible to fit many devices into

the same enclosure. The system concept with manual motor starters provides a far more compact solution than

for instance star delta starters whilst providing the additional soft start/stop functionality, essential in today’s

demanding pumping applications. With built in by-pass on all sizes as standard this not only saves energy, the

reduced heat generation allows for installation in high IP enclosures. With simple set up through 3 front

potentiometers and options for Fieldbus communication the PSR softstarter ticks all the boxes for a compact

starting solution.Type 2 coordinationThe new generation of Manual Motor Starters offer features that are in a class of their own:

MS116 from 0.1..16A, phase loss sensitivity, 690VAC rated operational voltage, Compact 45mm width, short

circuit breaking capacity up to 50kA

MS132 from 0.1..32A plus additional features of Magnetic trip indication, lockable handle and short circuit

breaking capacity up to 100kA.

Both models guarantee type 2 coordination.

AC/DC control voltage contactors

AF series contactors allow AC or DC control voltage from the same device due to the electronic coil technology

with wide voltage range and built in surge protection.

We keep your motors running!
