Due to global economic and polical developments, and naturalisasters, the prices of oil and gas have increased signicantly.

nergy companies have set up major investment programmes inhe search for new reserves. Easily accessible sources are already

n producon and so this search is focused on less accessiblereas, such as the polar regions and deep oceans.

HC Merwede has been responding to these developmentswith a major expansion of its oshore acvies. It has built up

respected posion in the market as a supplier of advancedquipment and complex integrated oshore vessels.

Posive outlookThe oshore market is picking up. In this posive trend, the Brazilre-salt oil elds development is playing a signicant role, but

he oshore oil and gas markets are also developing elsewheren the world.

or example, more than oshore construcon and

ecommissioning projects were completed worldwide in .

Global E&P capex budgets of $billion increased by % in, compared to $billion in . Exploratory drilling for

he year has provided a total of discoveries an increase ofen compared to the previous year. These factors have ensured

olid growth for the oshore construcon market.

Safety and regulaonsAer major oil spills in recent years, regulaons have become

ven more stringent than before. This has consequences forll pares involved in the oil and gas industry. As a reliable

supplier of oshore soluons, IHC Merwede is well aware ofhow its customers have to comply with legislaon. Due to its

vast experience in this eld, IHC Merwede has become anauthority on this area of the business, and can advise on the

for the installaon and maintenance of the wind turbines.IHC Merwede develops and supplies advanced equipment

and innovave vessels as reliable soluons to meet these

    challenges.

Tidal energyThe market for dal energy is relavely young, but developingextremely quickly. Several major companies are invesng

valuable me and nancial resource into the development ofnew products and systems. Although the current benets of

dal energy are not yet comparable to those of wind energy,

it is expected to prove its value in the next few years.

The major advantage over wind energy is the constant andpredictable factor of the des. As the technology innovator,

IHC Merwede is also working on various key components andsuitable producon methods for this new and dynamic market.

Combining our strengthWithin IHC Merwede, IHC Oshore Wind combines thestrength of various business units to provide innovave

system. This assures the swi guidance of the monopilethrough the NMS and the posioning of the NMS

concentrically with the monopile. Furthermore, the variable

guidance isolates the mechanical contact between monopileand screen. A mul-level bubble injector system operang

inside the NMS creates an extra noise barrier. The mudmatange on the boom of the screen enables a stable posioning

    on the seabed.

The versale design of the NMS means that it can be adjusted

to meet the demands of individual projects. It can also beeasily adapted in mulple installaon methods for monopile
