Ogbe Aihevba – Chairperson Ogbe Aihevba is the founder and the CEO of Axton Matrix Construction, a company with an annual turn-over of over R350 Million and an order book that gets in the region of half a Billion Rands. He began his career in Nigeria where he acquired early experience in water & sewage systems, structural concrete and the design of concrete structures. In early 1998, he relocated to South Africa to continue to pursue a career in the construction industry. He joined a company called Realeka Investments as a site engineer in May 1998 where he worked on different construction projects varying from construction of clinics, schools, pharmacies, upgrading of hostels, flood protection projects, construction of roads and upgrade of civil engineering infrastructure. As an employee, he acquired extensive experience in road construction and construction management. He rose through the ranks from a site engineer through to contracts manager and then acting general manager of the company until he resigned in 2006 to head his own company. He registered Axton Matrix Construction in conjunction with other partners in late 2005 and became the managing member of the company in early 2006 on a fulltime basis. In addition to his duties as the managing member of Axton Matrix, he has been involved in various construction projects as contracts manager and project manager. Since becoming the CEO of Axton Matrix, the company has grown its Construction Industry Development Board rating from a level 3 to a level 8 (Just one level below the highest rating a construction company can get in South Africa). The company asset base has increased significantly during this time and is continuing to grow. Under his watch, Axton Matrix have successfully completed construction projects for amongst other clients, Gauteng Department of Infrastructural Development, the City of Johannesburg, Johannesburg Development Agency, Road agency Limpopo, Rand Water and various other government parastatals in South Africa. Ogbe is a graduate of the University of Benin in Benin City, Nigeria. He has a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering, he is a member of South African Institution of Civil Engineering (SAICE) and a member of the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP).
