On 22nd ult., from a gig, the property of G, Lilly, York,—one cushion, about 3ft. 6in. long, to]} covered with red damask, bottom with green roan; one cushion Sft, long by 1ft. 6in. high at back, covered with red damask and green roan. John Heap, t.L, Eeg. No. 9191, suspected,—C.I. 132,

On 25th ult., from Mr, S. Hope, Perth,—a black retriever dog, white spot on breast, answers to name of Charley, property of S. Hope.—C.I. 133,

On 26th ult., from the person of Mr, Matthews, while on the jetty or s,s, " Otway," Fremantle,—a purse, 4d. piece, gold keeper ring, two buckles and knot in centre, gold dress ring, with setting for five stones, three amethyst, one pearl, and one empty setting; gold dress ring, with setting for five stones, three turquoise, one pearl, and one empty setting, the property of Mrs, Matthews.-—C.I. 134.

On 21st ult., from the person of William Finney,— a cheque on National Bank, No. 331, dated 7th Dec, 1878, drawn by C, Layman favor of Miss Guerin, amount =£1 Is., the property of William Finney. Vide Apprehensions.—C.L 138.

Sometime during the last 3 months from Henry Sutton's paddock, 5 miles from Mandurah,—| coil fencing wire.—C.I. 163.

On the 10th ult., from the person of Thomas Mountain, while asleep at the Victoria Arms Hotel, Eoebourne,—quantity of pearls, value .£50, one egg shaped white ring round centre, one round with white ring round centre, remaining different shapes, the property of Thomas Mountain.—C.I. 154.

On the 20th ult., from Thomas Kyle's residence, Hay Street, Perth,—2 razors, tortoise shell handles inlaid with silver, value 21s., the property of Thomas Kyle.—C.I. 155.

Since 24th ult., from J. J. Harwood's farm, near Fremantle,—kangaroo dog, brown color, white ring round neck, white tip on tail, answers to the name of Prince, the property of August Major. Thomas Freeman suspected; this dog is supposed to be with a man named Luff, on Mr. Chester's run.—C.I, 156.

Incendiarism. On the 29th ult., George Watkins, of Newcastle,

Deserting Wives, Families, Service, etc. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the

undermentioned offender:— MICHAEL GREEN, height about Sft. lOin., stout

build, fair complexion, dark blue eyes, dark hair, beard, whiskers, and moustache, an Irishman and a shoemaker, for deserting his wife at Gawler, on the 7th ult. Offender stated his intention of going to Eucla, Western Austraha, where he has two sons working.

Deserting from Merchant Vessels. Warrants have been issued for the arrest of the

undermentioned seamen deserters :—• Prom the barque "Armistice," at Port Augusta,

on Sth Aijril, 1879; WILLIAM MAYNARD, age about 36 years, height

Sft. l l in. , stout build, dark brown hair, slight, whiskers, very bright eyes, an EngUshman and a baker by trade.

HUGH ROWE, age about 38 years, height Sft. 8in., dark complexion, short, dark whiskers, bald on top of head, stout build, a Welshman, Inlays the flute and concertina.

The two above offenders are expirees from Western Australia,

Inquests. On the 29th inst., at Perth Prison, before C H.

CUfton, J,P,, and acting Coroner, on the body of Chilgoora alias Charley, ab, native. Verdict— " Deceased came to his death by being hanged, in accordance with lawful sentence passed upon him in the Supreme Court, Perth, on the 3rd April, 1879."

On the 21st inst., at the PoUce Court, Busselton, before J. S. Harris, R.M,, and Coroner, on the body of Thomas Linton, exp., late 5002, who died suddenly at Wannerup, on 20th inst. Verdict—" Death from injuries received by falling out of a cart while in a state of intoxication, on 18th inst."

The cheque for 14s. Id. therein described, claimed by the owner.

On the 16th inst., on the race course, Victoria Plains,—cheque drawn by Donald McPherson on the W.A. Bank, favor Thomas Groves, dated 16th April, 1879, amount =£1. Now at Victoria Plains police station.

Property Lost. On the 24th inst., at the Odd FeUows Hall, Fre­

mantle,—black silk shawl, smaU size.

Conditional Release issued to:—

Eeg. No. 10094, Eobert Briggs, at Fremantle, 24th inst. ; convicted at Perth, in Western Australia, on the 4th December, 1872, of housebreaking, and sentenced to 8 years' p.s. Intends residing in Fre­mantle District.
