CHINMAYA MISSION DALLAS/ FORT WORTH

Celebrating Gurudev’s Birth Centenary

1916-2016

OM Tasmai Sri Gurave Namah

Guru Paduka Puja

Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda was born on

May 8th, 1916. His vision has enabled tens of thousands of

spiritual seekers around the world find both external and

internal Guru. Several thousands of children and adults are

served by Chinmaya Mission centers in USA alone.

Paduka puja is worship of “Padukas” or sandals of a

Guru. Guru’s feet or Padukas represent the knowledge on

which He stands, and firmly abides in. Worshiping the

Padukas with humility brings about the required purity in our

mind for this supreme knowledge to flow into us and spiritual

wisdom to take roots in our hearts.

On the occasion of Pujya Gurudev's birth centenary

“Guru Paduka Puja” ceremony is performed to express our

gratitude to the great Master.

Guru Paduka Puja at Members' Homes

As part of Gurudev Jayanti Centennial

Celebrations, Pujya Guruji Tejomayanand-ji has

recommended that CM centers to conduct Guru Paduka Pujas

at members’ homes. Guru Paduka Puja will be performed

twice a month - on weekends, most probably on the 1st and

3rd

Saturday evenings from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Puja will be

performed by members at their homes From June 2014

through May 8, 2016.

Our Swamiji Sarveshananda-ji recently announced

a sankalpa/plan for the CMDFW center to perform the

Paduka Puja 108 times during the approximately two-year

period. Whenever possible, Acharya Ashaji has volunteered

perform/officiate these pujas at member’s residence. A

suggested donation of $151 is requested.

Scheduling is on a first-come, first-serve basis. There’s a

team in place that will check for availability of host’s preferred

month/date and if that slot is available, all the details on

logistics will be sent out. Typically, 4-5 members of the puja

team will work with the host family and help prepare for the

puja. Host family can invite family and friends to be part of

this auspicious event. It will be a great occasion to expose them

to Chinmaya Mission. Swamiji wants to see everyone

participate in celebrating Pujya Gurudev’s life.
