Vol. 7, Issue 5 June 2016 Kroc Center News Part of the large 18,000 sq. ft. addition to the Kroc Center will include the relocated Welcome Desk and new entryway sometimes referred to as “the Living Room” . Although we use the term Living Room what we’re actually referring to is the feeling you will get when you walk into the Kroc Center; warm, welcoming, a place to gather and have a conversation. It will include a new fireplace you can sit beside to read or an area where you can wait for your kids to finish their lessons. You’ll also be treated to an inspiring view of the new indoor walking track and fitness areas. During construction, expect the Welcome Desk location to move to a temporary entrance - anticipated date for this is late June/early to mid-July. The Omaha Police Department’s southeast precinct will hold its 14th annual Safety Awareness Fitness and Education event Saturday at The Salvation Army Kroc Center, 2825 Y St, and across the street at Miguel Keith Park. The SAFE event will feature learning activities for all ages, face painting, food games, a bouncy house and music. Past SAFE days have also included displays of the Police Helicopter, an Emergency Response Unit, Fire Engine, Police Horse Patrol and the Graffiti Van.
For kids 18 and under. $4 for Adults. (Closed July 4)
Thursday, June 24 • 9:30amIn an attempt to break the Guinness World Record, the Kroc Center will join other aquatic facilities around the globe to host The World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ lessons simultaneously at 10am CST.
