About KIET

About the Department
The department was established in 1999 with the objective to impart quality education in the core field of Mechanical Engineering. The students' intake in the department in the year 1999 was 30 and subsequently increased 180 in the year 2012. The aim of the department is to create knowledge, disseminate knowledge and to provide service to the society. The department gets updated from time to time with the latest developments and trends in the field of Mechanical Engineering. There are 40 faculty
members in Mechanical engineering department who are highly qualified, experienced and dedicated. An interactive relationship is maintained between the students and faculty which enable the students to develop a sound foundation in a conducive environment. The department was accredited in the year 2005 and 2009 by National Board of Accreditation (NBA) of AICTE and subsequently re-accredited in 2015 as per Washington Accord to the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
About FDP
Today the profession of engineering teaching has become quite challenging. Faculty members are expected to be effective in both teaching and research. In the current scenario, where advancement in the field of IC Engines and Fuels is taking place at a very rapid pace, the role of a
teacher has become very crucial. He/she is expected to include the advancements in his/her course content. The aim of this FDP is to bring the recent trends and scientific / technological approaches in IC Engines and Compressors.
Outcome
The programme will provide the teachers with hands-on experience with the advances in the area of IC Engines & Compressors, which in turn will impart this knowledge to the students for their professional and career advancement.
