• The 9th Air Support Operations Squadron (9 ASOS) will train, man, and equip Airmen, and be prepared to present mission ready forces to an air component commander, or task force commander, in support of world-wide contingency operations. These forces will be capable of sustaining full-spectrum operations as an autonomous expeditionary air support operations squadron (i.e. the 9 EASOS) and/or modular Tactical Air Control Teams responsible for integrating, planning, and directing execution of joint and coalition air- and space-power in support of the designated ground commander's scheme of maneuver. The 9 {E)ASOS will maintain core Air Force squadron functionality in garrison or deployed to address personnel, logistics, and vehicle/radio maintenance related issues of assigned and attached forces. The 9 ASOS has a habitual relationship with the 1st Cavalry Division (lCD). It will advise the lCD commanding general and senior staff on air­and space-power doctrine, as well as the full-spectrum of capabilities resident in the air component, while simultaneously integrating, planning, and directing execution of jo,int/coalition air- and space-power in support of the joint/coalition campaign plan.

Priorities-1. Functional USAF SQ

Task: Maintain functional administrative and operational SQ programs

Purpose: Sustains training, manning and equipping of all assigned Airmen

2. Core Mission

Task: Prepare ALL assigned Airmen to conduct combat/contingency mission

Purpose: Every Airman must be competent and able to effective execute his/her assigned duties, enabling the squadron to bring effective combat power to the fight

3. The Airman

Task: Develop solid professionall junior Enlisted, NCO, SNCO, and Officer Corps, who are ready to execute combat/contingency taskings

Purpose: Broaden knowledge and experience of every Airman to intellectually and physically stimulate the whole person; motivate and better prepare them to lead and manage squadron programs and personnel; insure they are competent to execute current combat mission and be prepared to seek, recognize, and take advantage of emerging/evolving opportunities; and finally, improve quality of life thru professional military development and other educational endeavors, as well as improved facilities and equipment
