On The Road To Success

Dear Colleagues,

The 2018 Annual Meeting is set for July 12–15 at the spectacular Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel in Virginia Beach.

You will take away:

Strategies for Winning Mediation The Art and Science of Successful Negotiations Leadership Lessons from the C-Suite Values for Life and Leadership VDOT Plans, Priorities and Initiatives

VTCA’s Annual Meeting is family-friendly, especially when we are at the beach! As usual, we will offer Camp Hard Hat for kids ages 5-14, our popular Family Beachside Hospitality Suite, and our traditional “Family Breakfast” area for those not attending the business-focused breakfasts.

Mark your calendar and plan to join me and our industry colleagues in Virginia Beach!

A panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean is just the beginning of all you will enjoy during your stay at the Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel for the VTCA Annual Meeting!

Located on the prestigious northern end of the Boardwalk at 35th and Atlantic, the Sheraton offers a stunning outdoor oceanfront pool, an indoor heated pool, and the Sheraton Fitness Center. Comfortable and spacious accommodations boast the Sheraton Sweet SleeperSM Bed, private balconies, a microwave and a refrigerator. All rooms are smoke free and feature complimentary high speed Wi-Fi.

You’ll also enjoy complimentary valet and self-parking and an on-site laundry facility. Bicycle rentals and the rental of beach chairs and umbrellas are on-site. Dining options include the full-service oceanfront Fusion Restaurant and Cabanas Seaside Bar & Grill.

Whether it’s Blackjack, Texas Hold’em, Craps, Roulette, the Wheel of Fortune, or Indoor Horse Racing, everyone will be placing their bets and cheering on their friends. VTCA will even give you the “Funny Money” to play with. At the end of the evening, turn your winnings into raffle tickets for some great prizes.

You will enjoy our hosted bar from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and a cash bar from 7:30-10:00 p.m. A sumptuous buffet dinner will be featured. Dress is resort casual.

Reservations for your stay during the 2018 Annual Meeting are to be made directly with the Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront. Make your reservation by calling the hotel directly at 757-425-9000 or Sheraton Central Reservations at 1-800-325-3535. When calling you must mention that you are part of the VTCA meeting to get the group rates. The room block closes June 13 or until sell-out, whichever occurs first, so act now!

VTCA attendees will enjoy a deluxe oceanfront room rate of $319. Poolside rooms also feature an ocean view for $319. Partial ocean view is $299 and city view rooms are $279. These rates are available to VTCA guests from Sunday, July 8 through Wednesday, July 18 should you desire to extend your stay (based on availability). All rooms are subject to 14% state and local taxes and a $1.00 per night occupancy tax.

Heron Ridge Golf Club will host this year’s golf tournament. Designed by Fred Couples and Gene Bates, Heron Ridge features 14 holes with lakes, water hazards or natural wetlands. Its unique setting among tall oak, beech & elm trees, punctuated with natural depressions and elevation changes unusual to the area, lead to a unique experience on each and every hole. The tournament format will be Captain’s Choice with a Shotgun Start at 1:00 p.m. We invite both delegates and spouses to participate. Fee includes cart, greens fee, box lunch, mulligans and prizes.
