We will be picking flowers (with the appropriate license from Department of Parks and Wildlife) in the days preceding the show. We will be setting up on Sunday 11 th Sept. We would warmly welcome any assistance filling bottles, arranging displays, tidying the surrounds or putting up signs on the roads out of town. Then we need volunteers to meet and greet visitors for the three weeks. You do not need to be a wildflower expert, just like talking to people and making them feel welcome. A roster will be left at the Ongerup General Store, the morning roster is from 9am to 12.30pm, the afternoon roster is 12.30pm to 4pm. The number of museum members has decreased in recent times, but we still feel that our little wildflower show has a lot to offer to locals and visitors alike, so please consider putting your name down for a couple of rosters, we will be very grateful. Hopefully, you will enjoy the experience. Jan Savage SUPER 66 WEEK 10: $50 Tracy Swalwell $25 Sandy Vaux $25 Kelly O’Neill This brings the end to Super 66 for 2016. BOOK CLUB REVIEW FOR SEPTEMBER 2016. Truly Madly Guilty

By Liane Moriarty.

In Truly Madly Guilty, Liane Moriarty turns her unique, razor-sharp eye towards three seemingly happy

families.

Sam and Clementine have a wonderful, albeit, busy life: they have two little girls, Sam has just started a new

dream job, and Clementine, a cellist, is busy preparing for the audition of a lifetime. If there’s anything they can

count on, it’s each other.

Clementine and Erika are each other’s oldest friends. A single look between them can convey an entire

conversation. But theirs is a complicated relationship, so when Erika mentions a last minute invitation to a

barbecue with her neighbors, Tiffany and Vid, Clementine and Sam don’t hesitate. Having Tiffany and Vid’s

larger than life personalities there will be a welcome respite.

Two months later, it won’t stop raining, and Clementine and Sam can’t stop asking themselves the question:

What if we hadn’t gone?

In Truly Madly Guilty, Liane Moriarty takes on the foundations of our lives: marriage, sex, parenthood, and

friendship. She shows how guilt can expose the fault lines in the most seemingly strong relationships, how what

we don’t say can be more powerful than what we do, and how sometimes it is the most innocent of moments that

can do the greatest harm.

The Goss from Gail...

Monday night saw 6 of us gather at Gail’s place to discuss her choice for September.

There were two apologies. This was not my first choice so I sort of settled on second best - Liane Moriarty is always an

entertaining read. We had all read the book, a first for some time. We all found that it went on for the first half and you

seemed to take ages to actually get to the nitty gritty. But it kept you reading. She finally bound everything together

beautifully at the end. We all enjoyed the read. This book rated 8/10

We then sorted out our December book club which we are holding in Bremer Bay. Thank you all for attending and stacking

my dishes! Next book club will be at Sandy’s on Monday 10th of October.

ONGERUP BOWLING CLUB: Membership to the Bowling Club is now due and is $80.00. Social membership is $20.00. We accept cash, cheque payable to Ongerup Bowling Club or EFT to Account 306-030 418041-7. Many thanks, Jenny (Hon Treasurer). FRIDAY NIGHT BOWLS: In spite of the current cold weather, Friday night Bowls is about to start this Friday evening, at the Ongerup Bowling Club, 16th September. Names in at 5.30pm, to start playing by 6pm. Cost of green fees $5 per person, includes a game of bowls and a sausage sizzle afterwards. The bar will be operating. Rug up warmly and join us for a game of Scroungers, or just come up for a drink and a chat . Jan Savage YONGERGNOW 10th ANNIVERSARY: We are coming up to our 10th birthday in February 2017 and would like to acknowledge all the milestones that we have achieved. There have been many people who have been involved over the 10 years and we would like to gather them altogether and celebrate. Please contact Rebecca 98 282325 or [email protected], with any ideas of what events could take us into the next decade of the Yongergnow Malleefowl Centre.
