HYOS-R offer

Air Liquide’s hydrogen generation module produces pure hydrogen from natural gas.

Steam Reforming:• Steam reforming converts methane (and other hydrocarbons in natural gas) into hydrogen and carbon monoxide by reaction with steam over a precious metal based catalyst. Natural gas consumption is minimized with the use of highly energy efficient combustion and heat recovery technologies, as well as our proprietary catalyst formula.

Shift Reaction:• Known as a water gas shift (WGS) reaction, the carbon monoxide produced during the reforming step is reacted with steam over a catalyst to form hydrogen and carbon dioxide.

Purification:• Pressure Swing Adsorption is used to remove carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, water and hydrocarbon impurities to deliver high purity hydrogen (up to 99.999%) to the customer’s pipeline.

Liquid Storage:• Liquid hydrogen provides supplemental hydrogen for peak demand and backup.

Air Liquide’s HYOS-R onsite offer provides an alternative supply solution to liquid hydrogen using our Hydrogen Generation Module (HGM) for an extensive range of applications and industries.

HYOS-R benefits

Low cost

Substantially eliminate the •

liquefaction and distribution costs of bulk liquid hydrogen.

A monthly facility fee provides price •

stability.

Allow greater control of energy cost •

as utilities are provided by customer.

Optimize hydrogen •

consumption with Air Liquide i-Datal™ service.

Reduce natural gas consumption as •

hydrogen demand decreases.

HYOS-R offers a low cost, reliable, efficient and flexible solution to deliver high purity gaseous hydrogen.

Reliable

Typically operate in excess of 98% •

uptime.

Liquid hydrogen storage offers back •

up during periods when the unit is not operating.

Continuous monitoring of the unit •

to ensure prompt response to production demands.

Air Liquide provides field service •

expertise and resources for planned maintenance and parts replacement.

Efficient

Minimize natural gas usage with •

efficient combustion and heat recovery technologies.

Up to 67% HHV efficiency at 290 •

PSIG.

Eliminate electric power required for •

liquefaction of hydrogen.

Lower environmental emissions. •

CO2 emissions or carbon footprint can be 30-40% below CO2 emissions generated with a liquid hydrogen supply mode.

Global capabilities. Local solutions. In 1902, Air Liquide was the first to develop a viable

process for liquefaction of gases found in the air. That

led to the creation of the industrial gas industry, which

today is improving the productivity and safety of most

manufacturing processes, while helping protect the

environment.

Air Liquide has grown and prospered due to its

continuous dedication to customer-centric solutions.

1 million customers in more than 75 countries•

Over 40,000 employees•

2,601 protected inventions•

350,000 shareholders•

We work hard every day to combine a global presence

with local focus. Environmental sensitivity with progress

and innovation. And creativity with compliance. The

ideal balance of these extremes is the foundation

for Air Liquide, now beginning its second century of

leadership.
