YOU’RE IN A GOOD PLACE.

The Opel Meriva is the car that feels just like home. For comfort, convenience and sheer interior space, nothing else in the compact category comes close. The FlexDoors® ensure access couldn’t be simpler but the generous interior is where easy living really kicks in – with a high driving position and luxurious, lounge-like seating for five.

From the outside, the Meriva is stylishly unique. Inside, it’s packed with practicality. Like Opel’s trademark FlexSpace® and FlexRail® systems that let you rearrange the interior in a couple of clicks. And the type of engineering that made a previous Meriva generation one of Germany’s most reliable ranges1 six years in a row. From your daily commute to a picnic to a trip to the shops, the Meriva has everything you need to take life in your stride.

The contents of this catalogue were accurate at the time of going to press (03/2014). We reserve the right to alter specifiations and equipment at any time. Please consult your Opel dealer for the very latest information.

1 According to the breakdown call-out statistics collated annually by the German Automobile Club ADAC, the Meriva was the most reliable pre-owned minivan from 2006 to 2011.

REDEFINING PEOPLE-FRIENDLY DESIGN.With its pioneering design, the Meriva leads from the front. The bold grille and eagle-eye headlamps underline the car’s confident, can-do character. From the side, an optional chrome belt line adds a touch of urbane elegance but it’s the outstanding FlexDoors® that get all the attention, and for good reason. They help make the Meriva one of the most user-friendly cars we’ve ever built. At the back, high-set rear lamps show off another big, easy-access door. Like FlexDoors®, the tailgate delivers in full on its promise – of a large, convenient, comfortable space.

GIVE YOURSELF SOME SPACE.The Opel Meriva is full of the feel-good factor. In the front, optional ergonomic-certified AGR1 seats are a treat for your body while the clean dash layout and high sitting position make for an excellent view. In the front or the back, there’s plenty of room. High-quality materials and colours make the Meriva a pleasant space to spend quality time with your favourite people. It’s fresh, different, cosy and familiar.

1 The AGR certificate is a seal of quality awarded by an independent testing committee made up of experts from various medical disciplines.

ADAPT ON DEMAND.The Meriva is packed with great ideas that give you the flexibility to pack more into your day. Rear-hinged FlexDoors® make it easier to get in and out, and make light of normally tricky tasks like settling small children safely into the back or placing big shopping bags on the back seat. FlexRail® is a modular, sliding storage system between the front seats that you can reconfigure to fit different items. FlexSpace® does the same for people and bigger loads (up to 1,496 litres) by letting you rearrange the three rear seats. And with the integrated FlexFix® bike carrier you can easily mount two bikes on the back bumper.

CLEVER CONTROLS. QUICKER CONNECTIONS.The Meriva is as good with gadgets as it is with people. Smartphones and other gear connect to the car so you can access everything on them using the built-in infotainment system. From state-of-the-art navigation systems to MP3 and radio/CD players with Bluetooth® and digital radio (DAB), Opel offers the full range of integrated infotainment options.

With IntelliLink technology, accessing your media and contacts is a cinch. You can make calls and stream audio using Bluetooth® from portable devices via a big 7-inch screen. Or hook up for full access via the aux-in and USB in the FlexRail® console. Whichever way you like to do it, the Meriva makes sure your connection is quick.

LIVELY ENGINES. MINIATURE COSTS.If your engine is efficient, you don’t have to choose between fuel savings and a lively drive. The Meriva is available with Opel’s cost-cutting ecoFLEX technologies and the next generation of German-engineered, mid-sized diesel engines that significantly reduce emissions and consumption. Like the 1.6 litre CDTI ECOTEC® unit with 70 kW (95 hp), which puts out just 110 g CO2/km. What’s more, there’s an automatic transmission available for petrol and diesel models – because owning the Meriva isn’t about making a choice between two things you want. It’s about having both.

SAFETY IS PRIORITY.When it comes to safety, Opel goes the extra mile. We offer a series of sophisticated technology options that help reduce the risk of damage or injury to you, your new Meriva and other road users. Like the Rear View Camera and Park Assist, which use sensors to help you park in tight spaces. Or Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL), which makes cornering at night safer and less stressful by automatically adjusting your headlamps.

Opel is committed to enhancing road safety through advanced technology. Which is why the Meriva doesn’t just feel safer than ever. It is.

COMFORT COMES FIRST.The Meriva’s strengths at a glance. The seating position is not the only thing that is higher than usual. The level of all-round comfort, convenience and quality is excellent – and a big part of what makes the Meriva a pleasure to own. Despite its city-friendly, compact outer dimensions, a versatile interior gives you the luxury of added space.

Inside the Meriva, headroom, elbowroom and legroom are all in good supply. Flex technologies make maximum use of the space afforded by the high roof. The most obvious example is the striking FlexDoors® system that lets you get in and out of the back seats easier – and with a healthier posture. Inside the Meriva, FlexSpace® allows you to change the number of passenger seats and enlarge the boot without taking any seats out. Optional FlexFloor® alters the height of the floor of the boot to fit different load situations and shapes. For example, you can raise it to make the boot flush with the bumper, adding an extra compartment underneath. The optional FlexFix® bike carrier is another hidden gem, this time inside the bumper itself. It’s the fast and easy way to mount bikes on the back of the car.

SELECTION.The Selection Trim Line is Meriva through and through. Of course, the trademark rear-hinged FlexDoors® and versatile FlexSpace® seat organisation system come standard, as do an impressive array of clever technologies and features. Like ESP®Plus and Hill Start Assist, which helps you pull away safely on steep gradients. To make sure you’re as comfortable as possible, the Selection is equipped with a height-adjustable driver’s seat and a steering wheel that’s tilt and telescope-adjustable too.

ERGONOMICS IS KNOWING WHERE COMFORT COUNTS.The Opel Meriva boasts a world first. Its all-round ergonomic concept was the first to receive certification1 from Germany’s prestigious AGR organisation, in recognition of its capacity to reduce the strain on your back. For example, with the easy- access FlexDoors®, FlexFix® slide-out bicycle carrier system or FlexSpace® versatile seating system. With these and other innovations, the Meriva proactively reduces the risk of a strain in apparently harmless everyday situations – so they stay harmless for good.

Ergonomic Systems

1 The AGR certificate is a seal of quality awarded by an independent testing committee made up of experts from various medical disciplines.

| 27Ergonomic Systems

1. Easy-access FlexDoors®. The rear hinges on Opel FlexDoors® mean you can open the doors much wider than normal, making it easier to get in and out of the back seats, or to help other people do the same. Even placing a bag in the back is simpler – and safer – than with regular doors.

2. FlexFix® integrated bike carrier. This practical bike carrier slides out of the rear bumper, making it simple to mount up to two bikes on the car, screwdriver-free. When you don’t need it anymore, it slides back into the bumper.

3 & 4. Versatile FlexSpace® seating. Opel’s FlexSpace® system lets you switch quickly and simply from three rear seats to two, or one, or none at all – all without ever removing a seat. In the two-seat configuration, a comfortable armrest with extra storage compartments, available as accessory, can be mounted on the folded middle seat.

COMFORT WITHOUT COMPROMISE.Nothing says ‘welcome home’ better than a wide-open door, and car doors don’t come much more wide open than on the Opel Meriva. But the homely feeling isn’t just down to big innovations like the FlexDoors®. It’s a combination of features and technologies large and small, a whole family of inventive and thoughtful ideas that together improve the quality of life in your car.

All-Round Comfort

3. 4.

5.

| 29All-Round Comfort

1. Panorama sunroof. Big, bright and beautiful, this sunroof stretches right over both rows of seats. If you need a little less light, there’s the electrically powered sunshade.

2. FlexRail® interior storage. Keep your belongings in their place, out of sight and easy to reach with this movable storage system located between the two front seats.

3. Electronic Climate Control (ECC). Dual-zone settings for the driver and front passenger mean you can set a different temperature for each side of the car.

4. Heated steering wheel. Keep your hands warm in cold conditions with this easy-to-grip leather-stitched wheel.

5. Electric parking brake. A push-button handbrake is effortless and practical, plus it frees up space between the seats for more FlexRail® storage.

SAFER ALL OVER.The Meriva has an array of advanced, German-engineered safety features to protect you and your passengers – and put your mind at ease on the road. Like the optional Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL) system that automatically adjusts the headlamps when you’re cornering at night. Or active headrests that help prevent whiplash in the event of a rear impact. If safety is on your checklist, consider it checked.

Optional AFL improves visibility and safety when you’re driving in the dark, using changes in speed and steering angle to adjust the direction and strength of your headlights. Dynamic Curve Light turns the lights into the bend while Static Cornering Light throws light up to 90° to the left or right so you can see better what’s around the corner. For more on AFL, go to www.opel.com

Enhanced Safety

5-star reassurance. The Opel Meriva was awarded the best possible rating by the Euro NCAP body for its safety performance.

2.

1. Rear View Camera. Get a clear view of the area behind you when you reverse. The 130° wide display makes it easier to judge distances to the rear and the sides.

2. Park Assist. Sensors mounted on the front and rear of the car trigger an acoustic warning if you get too close to the next object. Park Assist activates automatically when you select reverse gear.

Passenger protection. The Meriva’s passive safety systems include a high-strength steel rigid passenger cell and optional wrap-around airbag protection.

CONNECTS WITH YOUR LIFE.You don’t have to be a high-tech hotshot to appreciate the excellent infotainment options in the Opel Meriva. Whether you’re syncing a smartphone, finding the quickest way to a new place or just listening to music on an MP3 player, the Meriva has the Bluetooth® technology, big screen and sockets you need1. When it comes to keeping entertained, informed and in touch, you’ll hardly notice the difference from home.

The optional CD 600 IntelliLink makes full use of cutting-edge technology to give you swift, intuitive access to all your multi-media on a high-resolution, 7-inch home screen. The CD 600 IntelliLink lets you make calls and stream audio from smartphones, tablets and other portable devices using Bluetooth®.

Connected via USB, the integrated music database Gracenote® identifies artist, album and song names and helps you to manage your music collection. The CD 600 IntelliLink also reads out incoming SMS and lets you send a predefined message or call-back. You can customise the home screen – which is also the display for the Rear View Camera – for easier access to your favourite features, from music to settings to a particular device.

For easy navigation and maximum safety, upgrade to the 3D Navi 950 IntelliLink entertainment system (right), which accepts one-shot voice commands for navigation, phone calls and music track choice.

1. USB and aux-in for portable devices. These two sockets give you stable in-car access to a whole host of portable Bluetooth® and USB audio devices1, so it’s quick and easy to connect smartphones, tablets and other portable gear. You can make calls and access your own music and photos – and re-charge your device as you go.

2. FlexDock®. This intelligent, optional mount lets you access your smartphone or portable sat nav cable-free in the car and keep it out of harm’s way, in easy reach and visible on the dashboard. FlexDock® stays connected to the car’s sound system at all times, so there’s no need to plug or unplug your device to make or take calls and stream media from your MP3 player or smartphone to the central display.

ACCESSORIES.The Meriva is one of the most practical cars Opel has ever built, so of course there is a broad range of accessories available to ensure you can adapt your car to suit your individual lifestyle. For example, tailored privacy shades, or for fans of sporty body styling there’s a Body Tuning Kit that includes a roof spoiler, rear lower skirts and side sills. For extra storage space, add a Thule roof box and you’ll be good to go.

1.–2. FlexConnect. Keep your car tidier, clothes neater, shopping protected or the rear passengers happier. A separate universal base carrier attached to either of the front seats enables a wide range of comfort and convenience features for front and back seat passengers. A clothes hanger takes care of your jacket and a universal hook1 lets you hang smaller baggage or shopping neatly behind the seat. For the rear passengers a folding picnic table (1) with integrated cupholder offers a stable resting place for smaller journey needs. And for more entertainment holders1 for your iPad (2) or iPad mini are a cool addition to the package.

3. Bike carrier. Take your bikes for a ride on this easily mounted carrier that attaches to the optional towing hitch. The carrier securely transports two bikes with an optional extension available for a third.

4. Hard cargo liner. Keep the boot clean and tidy with this flexible and washable tray. The non-skid surface prevents your belongings from slipping and there’s a lip to limit damage should liquids spill.

All information was accurate and up to date at the time of going to print. The company reserves the right to alter engine specifications at any time, which may influence the content of the shown data. Please consult your Opel dealer for the latest information. All figures quoted relate to the EU base model with standard equipment. Fuel consumption data and CO2 emission data are determined according to regulation R (EC) No. 715/2007 (in the version respectively applicable), taking into consideration the vehicle weight in running order, as specified by the regulation. Additional equipment may lead to slightly higher results than the stated consumption and CO2 figures. The figures for fuel consumption and CO2 emissions do not relate to a specific vehicle and are not part of an offer. They are provided only for the purpose of comparison between different vehicle variants. Additional equipment may increase the weight of the vehicle when empty and in some cases the permissible axle weights as well as the permissible total weight of the vehicle and reduce the permissible towing weights. This may lead to a reduction in top speed and increased acceleration time. Driving performance figures assume a 75 kg driver plus a 125 kg load.

1 In acc. with regulation R (EC) No. 715/2007 (in the version respectively applicable).

ecoFLEX engines likewise reduce costs for Meriva owners by cutting consumption and emissions. The 1.6 CDTI ECOTEC® diesel unit generates up to 99 kW (135 hp) and features Start/Stop, which saves fuel by automatically stopping the engine when you come to a standstill and restarting when it’s time to move off.

46 | Opel Innovations

INNOVATIONS AT A GLANCE. Opel specialises in features that make today’s cars safer, more versatile, more user-friendly – and more fun to drive. Our innovations have also had a significant impact as car manufacturers everywhere seek to reduce fuel consumption. Here are just some of the great ideas that make your Opel such a pleasure to own.

Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL). Opel’s celebrated AFL system makes driving at night safer and less stressful by automatically adjusting your headlamps in fast bends and sharp, very slow-moving corners.

Heated steering wheel. A must if your Meriva is going to stay just as cosy on freezing mornings as it is when it’s warm. A leather-stitched, heated wheel does more than warm up your hands. It enhances safety by ensuring you get a good grip.

FlexFix®. One of Opel drivers’ favourite features. An integrated bike carrier that slides out of the rear bumper so you can mount up to two bikes quickly and easily on the back of your car. When you don’t need it, FlexFix® slides back into the bumper and out of sight.

FlexDoors®. FlexDoors® take the strain out of settling children safely into child seats, depositing bags on the back seat – or getting into the back yourself. These broad, rear-hinged doors swing out to 84° and out of your way so you can step in and out easily, without having to alter your posture.

AGR seats. Adjustable seats that were the first to receive certification from Germany’s AGR organisation in recognition of their ergonomic design and capacity to reduce the strain on your back. AGR is an independent committee of experts from various medical disciplines.

FlexSpace®. This versatile system allows you to quickly change the number of seats in the back of the Meriva, from three to none at all and anywhere in between. The real beauty of the system? All the seats stay fixed in their anchors and still fold perfectly flat.

FlexRail®. A modular console mounted between the two front seats that offers customisable storage and also serves as an armrest. You can add and take away a variety of modules, like a cupholder or storage for CDs. As the name implies, you can also adjust the console’s position by sliding it up and down on rails.

Clever storage. A comfortable car is a tidy car, which is why the Meriva offers up to 30 separate storage compartments for stowing everything from a laptop to a 1.5-litre bottle. For larger items, fold all three rear seats flat and the Meriva will take up to 1,496 litres of luggage.
