ecoFLEX. Almost no other conversational theme is currently as dominant as climate change and environmental protection. As a responsible car manufacturer we are fully aware of these issues and it is our aim to tackle them constructively. In fact, we have concentrated our combined corporate energy on making our environmental strategy reality, one that you can buy under the name of ecoFLEX. Behind this name lies a multi-tude of measures to enable every driver to enjoy his individual mobility while actively helping to protect the environment.

ecoFLEX with petrol or diesel. The petrol- and diesel-powered ecoFLEX models in the Opel Zafira range are optimized for minimum fuel consumption and emissions. All en-gines comply with Euro 5 regulations and are specially calibrated for high efficiency. The result is an average fuel consumption of 6.7 l/100 km and 157 g/km CO2 for the 1.6 ECOTEC® and 5.1 l/100 km and 134 g/km CO2 for the 1.7 CDTI ECOTEC® engines.

ecoFLEX with CNG. Power from compressed natural gas (CNG) is the perfect eco-friendly way to cut fuel costs without compromising on safety and functionality. In fact it can reduce harmful emissions by up to 80 %. The 1.6 CNG Turbo ECOTEC® engine of the Opel Zafira has been specially optimized to reduce emissions, but still deliver the kind of smooth performance you demand. In addition to the 21 kg CNG tanks, a 14 litre petrol tank means that you stay mobile when the next CNG filling station is not immedi-ately within reach, or that you can depend upon a really exceptional range.

Fuel consumption data and CO2 emission data are determined according to regulation 2007/715/EC and regu-lation 2008/692/EC, taking into consideration the vehicle weight in running order, as speci-fied by the regulation. Additional equipment may lead to slightly higher results than the stated consumption and CO2 figures. In addition, it may increase the weight of the vehicle when empty and in some cases the permissible axle weights as well as the permissible total weight of the vehicle and reduce the permissible towing weights. Engines and transmissions. Five smooth, refined and reflexive, Euro 5 compliant ECOTEC® engines give a wide range of power choices for the Opel Zafira. All have state-of-the-art engine management systems that respond instantly to your input. Four-valve twin cam technology is complemented by dual cam phasing with constantly variable valve timing (CVVT). This means that the combustion is always perfectly matched to the de-mands of the engine, efficiently delivering the power in a smoother, more impressive way. The two 1.7 CDTI ECOTEC® turbo diesel options have variable geometry turbochargers and low voltage glow plugs that speed warm-up and cut fuel consumption. Like the 1.6 CNG Turbo ECOTEC®, they transmit the power through the advanced Opel 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.6 and 1.8 litre ECOTEC® petrol engines both come equipped with the precise, easy-changing 5-speed manual transmission.

1.6 CNG Turbo ECOTEC®. With 110 kW (150 hp) and a top speed of 200 km/h the 1.6 CNG Turbo ECOTEC® is a great per-former. 21 kg CNG plus 14 litres of petrol give a range of up to nearly 500 km when fully tanked.

Safety

5-Star Euro NCAP rating. Opel SAFETEC® system begins with a 5-star rated rigid passenger protection structure. This has been computer designed and physically tested to ensure the least possible deformation and largest possible protection space in the event of serious impact from front, rear or sides. To this are added the active safety ele-ments which include Brake Assist, IDS, ABS with Cornering Brake Control (CBC), active head restraints, Pedal Release System (PRS), front and side airbags for driver and front passenger, automatic hazard brake flashers, etc.

Airbag system. Full-size front and side airbags protect the driver and front passen-ger. Curtain airbags to protect all the occupants and a front passenger airbag detec-tion system with sensor-equipped child seat recognition are optionally available.

Driving Dynamics

Bi-Xenon Adaptive Forward Lighting (AFL). By reacting to your speed and steering input, the optional Adaptive For-ward Lighting swivels to make night driv-ing safer and more relaxed by providing extra curve illumination.

ABS brakes with Cornering Brake Control (CBC). For extra control the anti-lock brakes of Opel Zafira also feature CBC to keep the car firmly under control when braking in cornering situations.

Electronic Stability Program Plus (ESP®Plus). With controlled brake interven-tion on up to 3 wheels the optional ESP®Plus counteracts even extreme under-steer (such as sudden avoidance move-ments) to maintain overall control.

Brake Assist. When braking in an emergency an extra valve in the braking system adds extra pressure for safer stop-ping performance. When ABS is activat-ed, brake lights flash in short intervals to warn the following traffic.

Versatility

Flex7® seating system. As much space or as many seats as you need organized quickly, simply, and with minimal effort. The Flex7® system means real flexibility and convenience, for instance you can fold one or both of the 3rd-row seats into the floor. With 60 : 40 folding 2nd-row seats the load-through or extra-space possibilities are even further expanded. Here you have the choice of simply folding the backrests for-ward or doubly folding the seats against the front row. In fact you can alter the seating configuration from 2 to 7 seats in just 15 seconds.With the rear seat row folded the luggage compartment offers generous 645 litres ca-pacity. With both rear seat rows folded this grows to a cavernous 1,820 litres.And if you have transport needs that exceed the Opel Zafira capacities: the permissi-ble roof load of 100 kg allows the Opel roof carrier systems to provide more reserves.

In 2-seat configuration a massive 1,820 litres of space is available.

FlexOrganizer®. Whatever you’ve got in mind, the Opel Zafira, with its host of ingen-ious stowage possibilities, has a place for it. The FlexOrganizer® system – a range of purpose-built dividers, nets and storage containers can be fixed to the side-mounted rails – designing your own load space becomes child’s play. Also, as it is modular and available as accessories, it can be bought as needed to cope with any new demand that may arise. And FlexOrganizer® also protects both your Opel Zafira and whatever you are carrying.

Folding both rear seats gives 645 litres of luggage space.

Equipment

Automatic Air Conditioning (AAC). Sensors monitor the interior temperature of the Opel Zafira and a sun sensor moni-tors the exterior heat. The fan is then au-tomatically controlled to maintain a pre-set comfortable interior temperature.

Power windows and mirrors. Conven-iently located in the driver’s door the power windows feature one-touch up/down and safety stop functionality.

Electronic Climate Control (ECC). Electronic Climate Control is fully auto-matic and individually adjustable and in-corporates a sun load sensor to ensure constant climate comfort under all condi-tions.

Equipment

Tilt and telescope steering wheel. In addition to the ergonomically high mounted gear shift, the Opel Zafira adds extra driver comfort with a reach and height-adjustable steering wheel for the perfect, relaxed driving position.

Park Pilot. Front and rear-mounted sensors activate an acoustic warning of potential parking hazards. The system can be switched off by a push button.

Integrated infotainment. Opel’s infotainment systems look every bit as good as they sound. Opel systems are designed and built to be fully integrated into the vehicle’s inte-rior – and to be as efficient and easy-to-use as every other aspect of your Opel Zafira.

CD 30. Stereo CD radio, preselection for 4 x 9 stations, 4 x 20 W, 6 speakers. Display via Board Info Display or Graphic Info Display if equipped with Mobile Phone Portal or Elec-tronic Climate Control.

CD 30 MP3. Stereo CD radio with MP3 playback and aux-in as standard. Preselection for 4 x 9 stations, 4 x 20 W, 7 speakers. Display via Board Info Display or Graphic Info Display if equipped with Mobile Phone Portal or Electronic Climate Control.

CDC 40 Opera. Specially developed for demanding music lovers. With 7-band graphic equalizer and Digital Sound Processor for fine tuning of the acoustic pattern. Total am-plification power of 150 W and 7 premium speakers provide powerful, clear playback. The integrated CD player with a capacity of 6 CDs with convenient single slot can play back MP3. Steering wheel control and Graphic Info Display are standard.

Touch & Connect. Multimedia navigation system with 5˝ touch-screen display and steer-ing wheel control for easy, intuitive operation. The navigation data for 28 European countries is stored on an SD card and shown in 2-D or 3-D bird’s eye view. TMC messages about traffic jams and diversions are automatically displayed and can be included in the route planning at any time for dynamic navigation. Integrated CD player with MP3 playback, audio with 4 x 20 W, and 7 premium speakers. Universally connectable via aux-in, USB with full control and browsing capability and Bluetooth™ for hands-free calling and audio streaming with track information on display.

Steering wheel with remote audio controls. For increased comfort, conven-ience and safety, the full range of info-tainment and communications can be controlled without taking the hands from the wheel or eyes from the road.

InfotainmentMobile Phone Portal. The Opel Zafira

can be pre-equipped for most mobile phones, including hands-free operation. A universal console with phone-specific adapter holds the phone and, from CD 30 upwards, it can be operated via the info-tainment system steering wheel controls. Bluetooth™ and Voice Control are stand-ard. The system is designed to adapt to the next generation mobile phones.

Due to a variety of available cell phones the compatibility with all models cannot be ensured. A current overview of com-patible phone models is available under www.opel.com/mobileportal.pdf as well as at your local Opel partner.

Auxiliary input (aux-in). Mounted on the centre console, the aux-in allows the immediate connection of all mobile de-vices with a headphone jack, e.g. MP3 player.

Roof boxes. There are 8 to choose from. Sizes range from 1,100 x 800 x 400 mm to 2,180 x 940 x 400 mm. Installation requires roof base carrier.

OPC Line Pack 1. Front and rear lower skirts, side sills, rear roof spoiler, and OPC badges that add extra sporting style to Opel Zafira performance.

Towing hitches. Towing hitches with removable or rigid ball heads are availa-ble for the Opel Zafira.

Interior bicycle carrier. A smart alter-native to exterior-mounted carriers. Up to 2 bicycles can be transported safely in the interior of the Zafira.

Extendable ski carrier. Securely car-ries up to 6 pairs of normal (carving) skis, or up to 4 snowboards, base to base. In-stallation requires base carrier.

Accessories

Privacy shades. These are tailor-made for the rear side and tailgate win-dows, are easy to install and can stay mounted when the windows are opened.

FlexOrganizer® fixation straps. The continuously adjustable straps are ideal for fixing items to the side of the luggage compartment.

FlexOrganizer® fixation adapters. Adapters for fixing other FlexOrganizer® items like safety net. Attaches to the fixa-tion rails.

FlexOrganizer® side wall net. A useful envelope net for holding small items in se-cure place, to be used with rail hooks or fixation adapters.

FlexOrganizer® rail hooks. The hooks hold bags or similar items in an upright position and can also be used for the fix-ation of the side wall net.

FlexOrganizer® service box. Multi-functional and waterproof box, e.g. for service items. Attaches to the FlexOrgan-izer® rail hooks.

Hard cargo tray. The custom-mould-ed tray keeps the luggage compartment area of the Opel Zafira clean and tidy. With anti-skid surface and raised lip at the rear.

Dog guard/luggage compartment di-vider grid. Stable and precisely fitting guard for division of passenger and lug-gage compartment. The luggage com-partment can be divided in two halves with the attaching divider grid.
