Talks, tours and workshopsOpen Days are a great chance to get a feel for what University life at Wolverhampton is like. Our general talks and tours provide essential information on the University, student accommodation, what our campuses are like, and much more.
Start the day with the ‘Welcome to the University of Wolverhampton’ talk at 10:15am to find out more about the University, our staff and students, outstanding facilities and achievements.
Subject specific presentationsEach Academic School / Institute will host its own range of presentations and activities. These are delivered by lecturers who will teach you at the University of Wolverhampton, so you can be certain they will give you a clear insight into what the course will be like.
Check which zone you need to visit to find the lecturers in your area of interest, as well as the time and location of specific presentations and activities. City Campus: p5-p8, Walsall Campus: p12-p14.
Student accommodation Book onto a tour of University accommodation from the MC Building on City Campus, or the Student Support Zone at Walsall Campus.
Campus toursTake a guided tour of our campuses to get a feel for the facilities on offer, as well as what life at each campus is like. Our tours are led by University of Wolverhampton graduates so they can offer first-hand advice and insight.
University Technical Colleges (UTCs)Whilst you’re with us visit our partner UTCs and see what opportunities are available in Health, Construction and Engineering for years 10-13.
STUDENT SUCCESSOur students THINK BIG, and go on to achieve success in all sorts of careers both in this country and abroad. Whether you go on to work for an internationally recognised brand, a local business, or make your own name through freelance work or setting up your own company, the University of Wolverhampton offers support and guidance every step of the way.
Kennedy GlewsBA (Hons) Design and Applied Arts (Textile Design), 2012“As soon as I entered the studio at Wolverhampton I felt at home. I gained places at Plymouth and Birmingham universities, but after visiting each, the facilities, staff and professionalism that Wolverhampton offered was second to none. What’s more, the opportunities – if you chose to take them – were endless.
“The course overall was brilliant and designed to give us insight into what the industry was like. Multi-tasking and tight deadlines are part and parcel of this industry, and the University portrays this perfectly.
“The teaching staff were also excellent and my best memory has to be the support of my lecturer. Her expertise and knowledge of the industry were outstanding and she made it her mission to pass on everything she had ever learnt.
“I set up Kennedy Jayne with the support of the University’s SPEED Plus programme. The fact I can perform all elements of the fashion industry in my own name, for my own business and with my own schedule is absolutely perfect for me.
“I entered my designs into the Wolverhampton Portas Pilot Competition and was honoured to win. I was introduced to key players in the retail industry and have been commissioned by brands in Manchester after they saw my range of handbags and wanted to bring an element of glamour to theirs.
“Another proud moment was when I was asked to guest lecture a group of Nigerian internationals who are starting female entrepreneurism courses in their country. They wanted to know how I had come so far in such a short amount of time, as well as the ins-and-outs of the business world today. It was very flattering they wanted to speak to me of all people.”

Current building work on our Wolverhampton City Campus is part of an exciting £45 million development programme.
Building work has almost finished to the MB building (which fronts onto Stafford Street). The new development houses our new science facility – The Rosalind Franklin Building. Covering more than six thousand square metres, it includes state-of-the-art laboratories, teaching and meeting rooms.
The phased opening has begun and full use of the new facilities for staff and students will be completed shortly.
Building work has already begun on a new purpose-built environment for the University of Wolverhampton Business School. The new building will be part of the development of the Molineux quarter, located near the football stadium.
Both developments are part of the University’s master plan for the area to improve facilities and the student and staff experience. They add to other work carried out in recent years across our campuses, including new Students’ Unions at City and Walsall; the development of The George building (formerly the Varsity pub) as a focal point for advice and information about the University; and modernisation of the Harrison Learning Centre.
