CONFERENCE New Trends in Optimal Transport Optimal transport has become a vibrant research area in mathematics, at the interface of analysis, probability and geometry. In recent years there have been several new developments with applications to diverse fields such as economics, image analysis, mathematical finance, and quantum mechanics. The conference brings together researchers in optimal transport, from all over the world, to present new results, exchange ideas and to foster future collaborations. Another important goal is to expose young researchers and Ph.D. students to the most recent developments in this area. The conference is organized by the collaborative research center 1060 The Mathematics of Emergent Effects. It takes place during the Junior Hausdorff Trimester Program on Optimal Transportation, which will be held at the Hausdorff Institute for Mathematics during January-April 2015. with a special day on Computational Optimal Transport and its Applications Luigi Ambrosio Han Bangxian Jean-David Benamou Yann Brenier Eric Carlen Guillaume Carlier Maria Colombo Dario Cordero-Erausquin Marco Cuturi Nicolas Fournier Ivan Gentil Paola Gori Giorgi Nicolas Juillet Kazumasa Kuwada Michel Ledoux Bruno Lévy Daniel Matthes Robert McCann Facundo Memoli Alexander Mielke Édouard Oudet Filippo Santambrogio Giuseppe Savaré Walter Schachermayer Christoph Schnörr Carola Schönlieb Takashi Shioya Anton Thalmaier Max von Renesse http://wt.iam.uni-bonn.de/optimal-transport/ Speakers include: Organizers: Nicola Gigli (Paris VI), Arnaud Guillin (Clermont-Ferrand), Jan Maas (IST Austria), Karl-Theodor Sturm (Bonn). CONFERENCE

New Trends in Optimal Transport

Optimal transport has become a vibrant research area in mathematics, at the interface of analysis, probability and geometry. In recent years there have been several new developments with applications to diverse fi elds such as economics, image analysis, mathematical fi nance, and quantum mechanics.
