Migrating from 4.X4.1: Unicode conversion
Migrating from 4.1 to 5.X requires the database to be converted to
Unicode
- This will increase the size of the database itself
- A conversion of the archive might be required as well (increasing its size)
- The memory usage of the Quintiq components will increase

Migrating from 4.XGUI Conversion
This affects all dialogs and will cause the application to look slightly
different

Migrating from 4.XWhat do we advise?
Don’t migrate from 4.1 to 5.X directly
- Too many changes for the end-user
- Impact of Unicode conversion should not be underestimated
In 5.X you should use Thin Clients
Migrate to 5.X without adding ‘new’ features; do not try to do it all at
once
- Let the users first get used to the new look and feel
- Organize an introduction to the new standard possibilities for the (key-)
users; a business consultant from Ordina may assist you
- Let the model rest for a little while to find possible bugs (model or software)
- After migration analyse which of the new features you want to implement
