Robert Paul "Tad" Williams (born 14 March 1957 in San Jose, California) is an American

writer. He is the author of several fantasy and science fiction novels, including Tailchaser's

Song, the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series, the Otherland series, and The War of the

Flowers.

Otherland is a science fiction (cyberpunk) tetralogy written by Tad Williams and published

between 1996 and 2001. The story is set on Earth near the end of the 21st century, in a world

in which technology has advanced somewhat beyond the present. The most notable

advancement is the widespread availability of full-immersion virtual reality installations,

which allow people from all walks of life to access an online world, called simply the Net.

The Game

The story picks up after the novels and offers a whole new engaging experience to players who are both familiar

and unfamiliar to the Otherland world. There will be appearances of familiar characters from the novels throughout

Otherland.

A freeform combat system intensifies player’s experience where skills determine the overall outcome. Players are

free to utilize one of the four classes, Warrior, Marksman, Assassin or Energizer, that closely suits their playing style.

Countless quests offer rich and intriguing storylines throughout Otherland. Moreover, there are several PvP zones for

players to display their prowess and to earn the glory of being the top combatant in Otherland.

Otherland offers vast and diverse virtual worlds, known as Multiverse, where science fiction and fantasy intertwines.

While embroiled in a never ending war between two ruling superpowers of Eight Squared, players can expect to

be trading blows with legions of demons bent on obliterating the majestic floating islands of Five Isle later on.

With elaborate character customization at the player’s disposal ranging from clothing, skin texture and even the

character’s physique, the possibilities are endless.

Powered by custom-built Unreal 3 Engine, Otherland is primed with crisp visuals and unparalleled online gaming

experience.
