SJPS PARENT NEWSLETTER April 8, 2020 Volume 4, Issue 2 OUR GRATITUDE TO GOD, ST. JOSEPH CHURCH, & OUR SJPS ‘OHANA Dear Parents and Guardians, Thanks be to God for His abundant love, grace, and mercy! We have successfully completed our first two weeks of our Long Distance Learning Journey. We thank God for His loving guiding light, our St. Joseph Church for their support and prayers, and especially to you our SJPS Ohana for being true members of our T.E.A. M. –Together Everyone Achieves More. As parents, you are the primary educator of your child, who were called to take a greater role in your childs faith formation and education during this challenging time of the pandemic virus. Although the journey has had its twists and turns, you stand strong in faith doing the best you can, knowing our administration, faculty, and staff stand with you, working collaboratively to help every student and family make the adjustments needed. No one ever imagined our Masses would be cancelled, doors of schools closed, millions losing jobs, and first liners dying while serving those in desperate need of help. But through it all, Pope Francis has continued to remind all of us Do Not Be Afraid, You Are Not Alone. We all have paused from the business of our day, reprioritizing what is truly important in life, taking time to pray, to talk to God and to each other, finding ways to generously and humbly acknowledge the needs of others, and lovingly embrace whatever cross God is asking us to carry as we pray for the courage to accept whatever is His will for each of us. Thus, although academic knowledge is important, I want to acknowledge the greatest gift you are giving your child every day. You are teaching your child the life lesson of how to be faithful, resilient, loving parents during this most difficult time of crisis. You are a daily example of how to live life centered in Jesus Christ, answering Gods call to be loving like Jesus, to teach by His example, and to Serve God and others with a humble and generous heart, all for the Glory of God. Thus, WE THANK YOU for all your daily efforts, and for supporting and affirm- ing everyones contribution to do their best. Thus, as we begin the EASTER TRIDUUM, let us take time to pause and remember Gods greatest gift to us. We thank God as shared by Father Efren, MS in his reflection on page 4, who said, On behalf of Fr Eric, Fr Adondee, and Deacon Keith let us implore the Lord for the grace to imitate His passionate love that brought new life in His resurrection. May the passion that consumed Jesus' heart also consume our hearts to experience the Risen Lord! In closing, Mrs. Calzada asked your children to learn this Lenten Song entitled Lead Me to the Cross. In this video, Mrs. Calzada shares a special message for all of us and has gestures to the song which your children are also learning. We thank her and her husband as we prepare for the Easter Triduum. I am sharing the link hps:// drive.google.com/file/d/1fQ6KFUAX3lTde-Mxv5vmPZMt8YNehJ/view?ts=5e8e7393 to the video she created. May God connue to provide all His loving grace and mercy as we journey together as One People of God United in One Spirit trusng in God now and forever. Have a very safe and Happy Easter! OUR GRATITUDE TO GOD, ST. JOSEPH

CHURCH, & OUR SJPS ‘OHANA

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Thanks be to God for His abundant love, grace, and mercy! We have successfully

completed our first two weeks of our Long Distance Learning Journey. We thank God for His

loving guiding light, our St. Joseph Church for their support and prayers, and especially to you our

SJPS ‘Ohana for being true members of our T.E.A. M. –Together Everyone Achieves More.

As parents, you are the primary educator of your child, who were called to take a greater role in your child’s faith formation and education during this challenging time of the pandemic virus. Although the journey has had its twists and turns, you stand strong in faith doing the best you can, knowing our administration, faculty, and staff stand with you, working collaboratively to help every student and family make the adjustments needed. Reflection:

The feast of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus is the greatest feast of the year for Christians, greater than any other religious feast, including Christmas. Why? Many people will say that we are saved because Jesus died for us. This is not entirely wrong, but it is very incomplete. It is so because if Jesus’ death was the end, how could He save us? The truth is that Jesus saves us through His life, His suffering and death, and His resurrection from the dead, the whole of it. Without His resurrection, His life, His suffering and death are meaningless for our salvation. Today’s feast of Jesus’ rising from the dead is the crown of God’s salvation work. It affects everyone of us in the deepest core of our existence, because it opens for us the way to eternal life in God. Without Jesus’ life, death and resurrection there is no hope whatsoever. On behalf of Fr Eric, Fr Adondee, and Deacon Keith let us im-plore the Lord for the grace to imitate His passionate love that brought new life in His resurrection. May the passion that con-sumed Jesus' heart also consume our hearts to experience the Risen Lord! The Lord is Risen, Alleluia! Happy Easter to one and all!
