The second reading reminds us that the Spirit helps us in our weakness, and intercedes for us according to God’s will. In the Gospel, Jesus teaches about God’s kingdom, and offers parables of grain and weeds to explain it.

Vietnamese Bible Study Lay Carmelites New Generation Seniors Meeting Rosary Guild Adoration Family Prayer Vietnamese Bible Study Confirmation Session
Lay Carmelites Perhaps you have wondered about a small band of people, each one wearing the large brown scapular, who sit near the statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel at Mass on the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (July 16) and at other celebrations periodically there in church. These are members of the Lay Carmelites of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Province, also known as Third Order Carmelites. The Carmelite Order, as some of the other major religious orders, have a lay branch of men and women who strive to study, learn and live in the spirit of the Order. They share in a community of prayer and fellowship devoted to growth in closeness to Our Lord in imitation of the Blessed Mother, known for her silent listening and obedience and the prophet Elijah of The Old Testament, known for his zeal in doing the Lord's work. Lay Carmelites spend time in study and prayer as they learn the charism (spiritual attitudes) of prayer, service and community with silent listening and meditation as their backdrop. Laicos Carmelitas Tal vez se han preguntado acerca de un pequeño grupo de personas, usando un gran escapulario café, que se sientan cerca de la imagen de Nuestra Señora del Monte Carmelo en Misa, en su festividad (Julio 16) y en otras celebraciones ahí en la Iglesia. Faith Formation is in need of Catechists for the 2017-2018 school year. Faith Formation meets on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:00 PM and First Communion classes meet every other Thursday from 6:30 - 8:00 PM. You can choose between Faith Formation and 1st Communion.
