Lenten Penance Service
In the Sacrament of Reconciliation we are forgiven
by God, reunited with the Church, and renewed in our
baptismal purity. We invite you to experience the love of
Christ through this sacrament at our Lenten Penance
Service on Monday, March 7th at 7:00 pm. Several
priests will be available for confessions. Please join us as
we acknowledge that we are all sinners in need of
preparing our hearts for Easter.
Easter Flowers
Remember your loved ones this Easter
season with a donation in their
memory. Envelopes are available at each entrance of
the church for those who need one. Please fill it out
and place it in the collection basket.
Pledging Lent Together
Each week during Lent, please take a purple
pledge card that will be found in the in the
baskets as you enter the church. Each
card encourages a different discipline based on the Sunday
Gospel. First Week of Lent: Reliance
Second Week of Lent: Imitation Third Week of Lent: Repentance
Fourth Week of Lent: Reconciliation
Fifth Week of Lent: Openness
Sixth Week of Lent: Trust
Young and old, we all need encouragement to carry out the
gospel; to let Jesus' message influence our daily lives; to
change our hearts. The Parish Pledge is one way to do Lent
together.
Join us for Lenten Suppers
Join us for a Lenten supper after the 6 pm Stations of the Cross each Friday of Lent at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. This is a special time for family, friends, neighbors, and strangers to be together during this season of prayer and reflection, a time for us to grow closer as family.

New Paschal Candles 2016 has been declared Holy Year of Mercy by Pope Francis, providing all believers an opportunity to receive and extend mercy. The Paschal Candle for the Holy Year of Mercy will serve as a reminder of the pursuit of mercy. It will draw attention to Christ the light, the source of forgiveness and the bringer of peace. Those who wish to contribute in memory of a loved one, please send the contribution to the Parish Office. In the Easter Season, we will list the names in whose memory the candles burn.

Below are just a couple of the CD titles available in our Lighthouse Media Collection:
My Beloved Son: Meditations for Lent
Fr. Robert Barron offers five sermons on the spiritual discipline we must cultivate in the Lenten season, a discipline centered in Christ. These meditations cover topics such as finding our identity in God, prayer as the key to mission, our thirst for God, how to end our alienation from God, and how to joyfully embrace the way of happiness.
The Four Last Things: Death, Judgment, Heaven, Hell
Fr. Mike Schmitz is one of the leading Catholic speakers in the Church today. Fr. Mike tackles four very difficult topics in this exceptional presentation: Death, Judgement, Heaven, and Hell. Listen to this talk and finally get the answers to the question: "What Happens When I Die?" Following the main presentation, Lighthouse has provided a bonus from the talk Purgatory: Holy Fire by Dr. Scott Hahn. This bonus is part of the 6-CD set by Dr. Hahn titled Answering Common Objections. We kindly ask for a donation of $4.00 per book (or otherwise specified suggested donation), $3.00 per CD, $2.00 per booklet and $0.50 per pamphlet so that we may continue this program. Please make all checks out to “OLMM.” Won’t you reach out and help bring someone home?
Highlighting Our Advertisers Did you know that Liberty Lane Catering advertises on the back pages of our bulletin? Any business you give them benefits our parish in the publication of our bulletin. We thank all of our advertisers.

Week 4 Begin Anew
Bring the Parable of the Prodigal
Son into your prayer this week.
Reflect on a portion of it or on one of the
characters each day. Conclude each prayer time
by responding to this question which invites us
to begin anew: “What is this Scripture passage
calling me to?”
REGULATIONS FOR FASTING & ABSTINENCE Ash Wednesday, February 10, 2016 and Good Friday, March 25, 2016 are days of fast and abstinence.
Fridays of Lent are also days of abstinence.
FASTING is to be observed by all 18 years of age and older, who have not yet celebrated their 59th birthday. On a fast
day, one full meal is allowed. Two other meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s
need, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids, including
milk and juices, are allowed.
ABSTINENCE is observed by all 14 years of age and older. On days of abstinence, no meat is allowed. Note that
when health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige. When in doubt concerning fast and
abstinence, the parish priest should be consulted.
Fasting, almsgiving, and prayer are the three traditional disciplines of Lent. The faithful and catechumens should
undertake these practices seriously in a spirit of penance and of preparation for baptism or of renewal of baptism at
Easter.

sunken ships and from Dunkin’ Donuts to Toll House
Cookies. Copies of My New England will be available at
the Parish Office. They will also be on sale in the Church
Hall at all Masses during the weekend of April 9-10.
The book sells for $12.00; $3.00 of each sale will go to
Sr. Doris’s Outreach Program.
