Some Small Changes at St. Christopher’s We made a few small changes in the area behind the Altar to change the look a little. There was a large
blue background that might have given a bit of a sense of sky to disguise the fact that there was a chapel behind the altar. It also dominated the scene and did not let the altar, cross and ambos stand out as they
should. There was also a narrow window that gave a very limited view into the Eucharistic Chapel but also took some of the attention away from the cross. By closing the window and painting a more neutral
background we hope our beautiful crucifix, altar, and ambos will become more prominent. The other main symbol, the presider’s chair that represents the Chair of Peter is still not as prominent as would be
ideal, but the size of the area does not give us very many options without expanding the area, which would be a major alteration. I hope you like the changes, and thanks to our dedicated decorators who
keep our visual experience alive. -Fr. Tom
