*SignHealth is a registered charity committed to the health and wellbeing of Deaf children and adults. Charity no. 1011056 Our school is attempting to break the World Record of Signing and Singing! You may be aware that your child has been learning some sign language recently at school? This is because we are taking part in SignHealth’s* national fundraising and deaf awareness day in February, and we need to practice. The event involves attempting to break the world record for the most number of people signing and singing and on Wednesday 6th February 2013 at precisely 2:45pm our school, and thousands of other schools, will sign and sing the song ‘sign2sing’ for this national deaf charity www.signhealth.org.uk, and raise some much needed funds. Your child is invited to be part of this fun and educational, world record-breaking attempt. SignHealth are simply asking for a £1 donation from each child (donations should be made to the school, cash or cheque) and in return each child will be awarded with their very own official record breaker certificate, along with a FREE Digital Key which unlocks the secret door of Monkey Manor. You can enter this code to explore Olli the monkey’s world of signing, and to access lots of on-line sign language games, competitions and prizes. Lastly, we are suggesting that on 6th February 2013, the day of the challenge, all children bring a scarf to school to wear when we break the world record, so that they can be like Olli the monkey! Thank you for your support.
