Step 1. Cut one 2-1/4” x 5-1/2” rectangle of the dark brown fabric. Fold the rectangle in half with right sides together and aligning the 5-1/2” sides. Stitch using a 1/4” seam allowance.

Step 2. Turn right side out and press. Top stitch close to both edges.

Step 3. To create the D-ring piece, fold the strip in half lengthwise. Slide the D-ring to the fold. Use a zipper foot and stitch across strip securing the D-ring in place. Stitch as close as possible to the D-ring.

Step 4. Print all templates found on the template page. Cut out templates. Cut one 3” x 5-1/2” rectangle of the light brown fabric. Fold in half with wrong sides together. Top-stitch close to the folded edge. Trace the body pattern tem-plate onto one side of the folded fabric, aligning the fold line of the template along the topstitched edge. Cut out both sides along the traced line.

Step 5. Cut two 3” x 5-1/2” rectangles of light brown fabric. Cut one 3“ x 5-1/2” rectangle of Peltex® II.

Step 6. Trace the back pattern template onto one of the 3” x 5-1/2” fabric rectangles. Layer the traced fabric rectangle and the other fabric rectangle, wrong sides together, with the rectangle of Peltex® in between. Place the stitched body piece on top, aligning the raw edges of the body with the traced back as shown.

Step 7. Stitch around the body piece, through all layers.

Step 8. Leaving a 1/8” seam allowance, trim around the body piece and drawn lines for the head through all layers.
